00:07:33 The Monero GUI is getting 'Scan Transaction' finally thanks to selsta (scan_tx in the cli wallet). IMO this is a huge step forward for tech support issues, and opens the door for other ideas (at the moment, just 1 txid is accepted at a time in the GUI) (other future use cases can include restoring a wallet quickly if you have a full list of txids in/out... gifting a wallet with view/spend key + txid of the gift tx). Basically, your 00:07:33 wallet does not have to be synched and you can enter a specific txid, and viola, its added to your balance. More info here in this draft user-guide for monero site i put together just now https://github.com/plowsof/userguide-drafts/blob/main/scan/scan-for-txid.md 01:15:08 Been a while I did not use official monero gui, did they fixed the "transactions" tab? 01:16:08 * "transactions" tab? (I remember it use to freeze the UI for many minutes and sometime crash the gui) 01:18:16 i want to say yes (as ive never noticed this myself, but if not please direct any issues -> #monero-gui:monero.social) 😁 01:21:08 kayabanerve is a one man army over here, creating and solving his own issues. Have a break.. have a kit-kat https://github.com/serai-dex/serai 01:36:44 What 01:37:03 plowsof: only if you bring me one ;) 10:42:39 "kayabanerve is a one man army..." <- Will the serai be the true DEX where I am still in control of the Monero, or will I need to send my Monero to an external address to participate? 10:42:45 * Will the serai be the true DEX where I am still in control of my Monero, or will I need to send my Monero to an external address to participate? 10:43:28 Atomic swaps style, or Gangnam style? πŸ€ͺ 10:50:50 It won't be atomic swaps judging by "Funds are stored in an economically secured threshold multisig wallet." 10:51:40 ignore that FUD lol " as needed for Bitcoin-Monero atomic swaps." 15:07:00 Hi guys 15:09:14 Got a question. I stated to mine Monero on MacBook Air and when i close hatch terminal is not working 15:11:29 closing a laptop puts it to sleep usually 15:12:31 Yeah, enayone know how to change it? There got to be a way 15:12:49 I can't find it anywhere 15:12:55 quite sure there is a terminal command 15:12:58 caffeine 15:12:59 or so? 15:13:05 google mac caffeine 15:13:26 ok, i'll take look on that 15:13:58 https://caffeinated.app 15:14:16 there is also a terminal command for it 15:14:59 thanks man πŸ‘Œ 15:15:01 https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/426860 15:15:25 that doesn't even require you to install anything 15:17:24 πŸ™ 17:54:38 GuruJi[m]: It's not atomic swaps. Funds are held in a multisig, as plowsof quoted, so it technically is custodial. Just decentralized custody with non-cryptographic security, but that is lesser than cryptographic security. It's why I ack atomic swaps, recommend them for large OTC trades, and still write infra for them. 18:18:54 "can i revive kovri pls" <- kovri is dumb, i2p is weak insecure 18:19:14 som1[m]: [[citation needed]] 18:19:48 i am the citation 18:20:04 my words are citation in itself 18:20:24 just substantiate them 18:20:26 kindly 18:20:33 I have yet to hear any actual hard evidence on the matter from you 18:20:46 Aside from "it sucks because I say so" 18:20:53 About anything at all 18:20:55 evidence: no darknet site available on i2p 18:21:04 they have mirrors there, but not darknet site mainly there 18:21:20 so? 18:21:23 all of them use Tor as their first line of defense 18:21:30 So, som1, what are you going to do 18:21:31 that is the proof, it is weak, no one trusts i2p 18:21:34 Coach? 18:21:36 dump protocol weak 18:21:38 that's like saying no computer is a quantum computer yet 18:22:01 no one trusts quantum computing 18:22:06 too few qubits ya see 18:22:07 Endogenic, som1 is a troll 18:22:08 okay then create a drug marketplace over i2p ? you will get busted in no time, 18:22:13 when you get too many the system decoheres 18:22:25 and ur drug purchase privacy is in shambles 18:22:27 We has technical convos about this a week ago 18:22:42 som1[m]: no 18:22:45 Logical fallacies and where to find them: som1's messages 18:22:55 lol how many trolls are there in monero 18:23:09 the really dangerous ones are the ones who accuse others of being trolls 18:23:16 then scam the community somehow 18:23:31 afk 18:23:32 Everything som1 has said here has been an opinion 18:23:34 He's been doing the first part plenty already, in the few days he's been here 18:23:49 And telling people what to do, based on som1 opinion 18:24:06 sent him to the mrl room 18:24:11 his brain is too big for us 19:21:08 https://youtu.be/9RJ5HDmuucY 19:21:08 I just watched this video of your Monerotopia presentation and it definitely addresses scalability well.
