02:01:45 seed is fine, monero-wallet-gui fails to reset 'Create wallet' button grayedness 02:10:37 thank you @plowsof, video is available at https://github.com/monero-project/monero-gui/issues/4341 04:35:47 I typed the seed manually and it failed. Maybe i misspelled a word(?) 04:44:47 i had guessed `honked` wrong 04:51:21 plowsof: the multiline structure appears to work 04:53:43 I think 25 seed words on 5 lines should be the norm - more readable... 05:00:19 Its how cli displays it, but mobile wallets expect spaces instead of linebreak 08:32:27 hey! do you happen to know how i can contact selsta on element 08:33:43 Not sure if selsta is accepting DMs 11:48:38 Hi everyone! 11:58:57 Hi everyone! I am new to crypto and want to hold XMR on my Trezor Safe 5. Accoring to your HP the wallet is not officially supported. From reddit I know that people still managed to make it work but I have had no luck so far. I am running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, I set up everything in the Trezor suit (PIN, passphrase and so on) and I downloaded the udev rules for Trezor devices, moved i 11:58:59 t to the respective folder and set the file permissions to -rw-r-r- root:root (which are the file permissions for all the other udev config files). I also have the newest version of the Trezor bridge running. I can create a wallet in the Monero GUI but I am not able to open it. The software stalls displaying "Opening the wallet". Any ideas? Thank you in advance! 12:22:39 While waiting for someone with a clue about trezor, did you chcek dmesg for any I/O errors or the like ? 12:37:22 The device should prompt you to export the private view key 12:39:33 mantscha: I am not familiar with reading the kernel ring buffer. But I checked for any error message including Trezor using dmesg and didn't find anything. 12:41:06 No nothing is happening on the device after exporting the public key. 12:42:33 Make sure trezor suite is closed and the device is unlocked. So the gui lets you create a wallet from hardware device? And then is unable to open it at any stage? 13:45:22 I had checked that many times before. I solved the problem myself. The wallet folder did not have the right permissions. I set the permissions for my user-group and for anyone else to read+write and it worked. Am I really the only one who ran into this problem? Could be wise to add this to the documentation. Thanks for your help though! 17:39:58 mantscha: Are you using the new release? GUI v0.18.3.4 that is 17:40:03 It adds support for the Trezor Safe 5 17:40:05 https://www.getmonero.org/2024/08/20/monero-GUI-0.18.3.4-released.html 17:40:59 This could have been a result of running gui as root 17:42:21 iirc the Trezor safe 5 is the interface as the older one. Only change in gui for it, is a new icon. (i might be wrong) 17:42:43 Is the same* interface 18:17:59 thanks debruyne, that should be the issue (pending any possible root problems)
