10:42:32 <m-relay> <t​obtoht:monero.social> Yes, but it doesn't matter as much for build tools (ideally the latest toolchains are used for release builds for performance and binary hardening reasons, but you run into glibc compatibility issues if you build on newer-than-EOL Ubuntu versions - guix builds fixes this). Statically linked dependencies, however, *should* be kept up to date.
