18:09:18 welcome! 18:09:35 https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/pr8x6v/a_redesign_concept_for_wwwgetmoneroorg/ 18:09:40 https://www.figma.com/file/yT4JTUfvBkAsBDPNPJL1gx/Monero-Redesign-Concept?node-id=0%3A1 18:10:13 for those who haven't seen it already, hammermann put together a redesign concept a few months ago 18:10:41 hammermann - https://github.com/monero-project/monero-site/issues/1900 18:10:57 this is the issue i opened to help kick start some changes to the website 18:11:11 would be great to get some feedback from you 18:12:56 * from you - regarding the site map as it's a little different from the one you propsed 18:22:28 "hammermann - https://github.com..." <- Seems like a more detailed version of what I have in mind. I'm simply talking about a UX perspective here. This is definitely more organized than the current website. The way I imagined it first was by thinking in user's goals. People who visit the website are most likely: 1- consumers/users who are curious about Monero and it's usage or are considering it as an investment 2- 18:22:28 developers who are curious about the tech and want to know more about it or contribute to it. This way, it makes sense to have separate paths for each user group and provide them all the information they might need 18:24:22 You see this categorization in other well known cypto projects as well. Like Cardano, Polkadot, etc 18:25:49 I did a little bit of research few months ago to see what average crypto user cares about in a website and this is the results: 18:25:50 * Hammermann[m] uploaded an image: (51KiB) < https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/r0/download/matrix.org/TmBRvvfbeAXtnnFODxPROsXe/image.png > 18:26:58 is the y axis the number of responses? 18:27:42 or 1-10 importance? 18:28:12 yeah. Even tho I didn't get many responses for that questionnaire,I think it's still available to gather more responses 18:29:57 The thing is there's simply no best site map you can come up with. Only a more optimized version of what already exists is achievable. That's still a lot of improvement tho 18:30:12 it's interesting anyhow, i'd like to know more about the survey of course and interestingly that more or less falls in line with what i had assumed from a new user stand point 18:31:08 Hammermann[m]: i agree, my approach was one of optimisation; going through the site and documenting discontinuities in my ux 18:31:41 https://www.survio.com/survey/d/N8B2D7J2E8V4O4B9T 18:31:42 this is the survey I made. The main purpose of it was to see how important are crypto websites to users and what they mostly care about in a website 18:32:12 have to advertised it on the monero reddit page? 18:32:13 monero-guides[m]: yeah that's the UX way. Continous improvement 18:33:05 monero-guides[m]: I didn't want to get the opinion of Monero users only cause I thought that'd make the results somehow biased. I mostly sent it in general purpose crypto discussions 18:33:13 s/in/to/ 18:34:57 good thinking; if you haven't advertised you survey there, we should. i'd would be nice to gain some more momentum and interest in developing the getmonero site 18:35:11 s/i'd/it/ 18:35:55 Sure. You can send it wherever you think it'd be helpful and I'll share the updated results 18:37:44 i'm of the opinion that it would be better to approach the redesign from a reorg perspective initially. that way we can get the content as is, put it its place and then start with the stylistic changes, which of course seem to have been the major barriers to your design proposal 18:38:41 for the time being, if you would like to recommend any changes to the site map i have proposed, i'd love to hear them 18:40:54 monero-guides[m]: It's usually the other way around in UX design. Because design should always be done in a way to better present the content. But it might work as well if you keep reiterating 18:41:28 And actually that's the way most business choose cause content is never there to be used lol 18:41:51 monero-guides[m]: I'll let you know if anything comes to my mind 18:42:20 Hammermann[m]: ah, so my lack of web design is showing? 😅 18:42:29 * web design experience is showing? 18:44:08 monero-guides[m]: That's totally okay. I know shit about code stuff lol 18:45:42 well, let's see if we can botch something together 😋 18:47:31 I can give opinions here and there but unfortunately I can't dedicate time on a redesign anymore. At least not for free. 18:48:23 :) i think that's reasonable 18:48:42 * that's reasonable considering what you've done already 18:54:13 https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/rfn1k1/getmonero_redesign/ 19:02:10 is it possible to amend that survey? 19:02:26 i was thinking just now a perhaps 'support' is also another important item 20:32:14 "i was thinking just now a..." <- It's not possible to adjust surveys after creating them. You have to make a new survey if you want to add more options/questions 22:28:49 "is it possible to amend that..." <- Posted on monero.observer let me know if you want to edit it. 22:29:59 escapethe3ra[m]: thanks, will do :) 22:32:42 s/i was thinking just now a perhaps 'support' is also another important item/i was thinking just now, perhaps 'support' is also another important item/
