08:55:54 Hi there 08:58:09 Hello 08:58:57 MoneroisKing[m]: Hi there, King 09:00:54 I do love seeing new people join on this side of monero. 09:01:30 MoneroisKing[m]: thank U indeed 09:07:40 "I do love seeing new people join..." <- pls what would be your best advice to me for buying some XMR in the best secure and anonymously way? 09:09:21 Buyer1000[m]: Well I purchase monero on agoradesk/localmonero by sending funds via mail. 09:09:39 MoneroisKing[m]: Takes a while, but I receive the monero. 09:10:07 MoneroisKing[m]: I see 09:10:45 Buyer1000[m]: how does it really work that funds sending via E-Mail? 09:13:19 Buyer1000[m]: Never tried that before to be honest with you. The only methods I've used are cashapp, mailing funds, and rarely gift cards. Those are the ways how I purchased monero so far. 09:14:33 MoneroisKing[m]: I see, I got U 09:29:50 "I see, I got U" <- what about sending U a gift card's amount for buying some XMR directly from U? 09:32:30 Buyer1000[m]: I wouldn't mind I'm just not holding a lot of xmr at the moment. 09:33:58 MoneroisKing[m]: if so, we should probably talk more in detail about the idea 09:34:48 Buyer1000[m]: I guess so 09:36:25 MoneroisKing[m]: how could I get in touch with U for a 1 on 1 chat?? 09:38:01 Buyer1000[m]: I mean I mainly use discord, here, session messenger, simplex. I don't really use much social medias at all. 09:41:38 MoneroisKing[m]: I do not use social medias at all too; 09:41:39 In relation to the XMR's transaction would I find U on the platform called "BISQ"? 10:01:01 "pls what would be your best..." <- Use localmonero.co 10:12:35 "Use localmonero.co" <- pls any feedback about using "BISQ"? 10:16:01 Buyer1000[m]: Oh sorry I don't use bisq. I do plan to use it later on the future. I just gotta finish setting my PC. 10:17:11 MoneroisKing[m]: fair enough 10:27:41 "pls any feedback about using "..." <- High fees due to BTC. Wait for haveno.exchange 10:41:31 🫡 10:44:37 dont use threaded nessages 10:44:38 Messages 10:46:58 Yes sir ☺️ 12:50:21 Hello, what is the current size of pruned monero blockchain? 13:28:13 Den4ikRus: 60GB? 13:28:17 approximately 13:34:58 selsta: strange I did monero-blockchain-prune and the resulting db was 120G 13:35:25 what is the correct way to prune already existing chain 13:35:35 Den4ikRus: which exact command did you use? 13:37:02 monero-blockchain-prune --data-dir=/some/path 13:37:28 but first I imported blockchain.raw I downloaded from getmonero.org 13:38:40 the easiest way would be to just sync up with ./monerod --prune-blockchain 13:39:33 you didn't do anything obviously wrong, I don't know why it's 120GB on your system 13:42:29 * hbs[m] uploaded an image: (181KiB) < https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/jDcKsLYlDblbzCDknGcoyqWN/PXL_20230730_133618994~2.jpg > 13:42:29 Was reading "Tracers in the dark", Monero gets mentioned towards the end. 13:42:53 * hbs[m] uploaded an image: (173KiB) < https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/vihhNIjwhgjkHlIepGHvoMFJ/PXL_20230730_133628397.jpg > 13:54:44 selsta: I see 13:55:15 does prune-blckchain=1 line in /etc/monero/monerod.conf 13:55:23 the same as --prune-blockchain? 13:55:56 yes, but you have to sync from scratch 13:56:53 Ok thx 14:08:58 * hbs[m] uploaded an image: (169KiB) < https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/ArhpiDrdsjKMrJfobYRfciYj/PXL_20230730_140824828.jpg > 14:47:38 Hmm, crypto gets connected to "crimelords" and "wrongdoing" in this book. Nice book.😒 15:43:35 "High fees due to BTC. Wait..." <- thank U very much indeed 18:03:57 Hi. New here. Is this a good place to get some technical support with funds that have been sent from wallet to another but not arrived at the recipient wallet despite 3000+ confirmations? I've checked and re-checked the txn and can't work out what has gone wrong. Not an expert so now stuck. The amount transferred isn't massive but enough to want back if I can recover. If nothing else, want to know what went wrong. Had the funds 18:54:47 mrcheers: what wallet is the receiver using? (Or did you send to yourself) #monero-support:monero.social for further assistance/tech support 18:56:17 I sent it to myself. Shall I switch channels? 19:02:09 How are fees calculated? Are they taken out of the transaction amount or from the wallet? 19:02:34 The node calculates the fees, but I am not sure what parameters are taken to calculate them 19:02:58 oldmancoffee[m]: they are not included in the amount you are sending 19:03:34 nevermind, user error - I was testing sweep all - makes sense why the total amount would be less the fee if you're sending everything 20:51:39 "The node calculates the fees..." <- The base fee depends on the median blocksize
