11:29:48 Good morning 11:44:14 ro1m: Good evening from UTC + 7 11:45:13 Good morning from UTC - 4 12:37:56 There's so many pending-review PRs, when is next release planned? 12:38:12 I assume at least after this is cleared up? https://github.com/monero-project/monero/issues/10545 12:41:12 That list may continue to grow indefinitely 12:41:28 Release comes when release is warranted 12:41:34 What warrants a release? 12:42:02 could release quickly due to a dependency securoty update, could release quickly due to a regression 12:42:15 Could release slowly because everything is superficial 12:42:46 Releases are typically bug fixes. Were obv not going to rush a release due to spelling errors and micro optimizations 12:44:36 thered no hard rule about when to release. We release when weve included some good amount or good quality bugfixes 12:44:45 makes sense 14:25:37 https://mrelay.p2pool.observer/m/matrix.org/zkXlDjxsZDTvMYGJIvSzeXay.jpeg (XMR FR.jpeg) 14:25:52 Hey Monero bro! 14:25:52 I’m John, a long-time XMR miner and privacy advocate based in France. While Monero has a solid online presence, I want to push for more real-world visibility here in French streets and cities. 14:25:52 Guerrilla marketing works. There's nothing quite like seeing the Monero logo out in the wild to spark curiosity and get everyday people looking into real digital cash.[... more lines follow, see https://mrelay.p2pool.observer/e/0Pmzo4ULUlItR3Zw ] 14:26:37 How long is "long-term"? 14:26:53 @john_xmr:matrix.org: France or ... Paris? 14:28:23 Colorado or... Denver? 14:28:53 john_alan time is money 14:28:57 john_xmr* 14:44:31 Haha, definitely NOT just Paris! I'm based in the Isère region (near Lyon / Bourgoin-Jallieu), so the stickers are going to hit regional cities and rural areas too. Paris gets enough attention, we need true geographical decentralization for this campaign! 14:45:31 @john_xmr:matrix.org: How long is "long-term"? " I’m John, a long-time XMR miner...." 14:50:28 I might not be a 2014 OG, but I've been holding and actively CPU mining for a while to support the RandomX decentralization. Currently pushing hashes on a 10-core Apple Silicon M5 via MoneroOcean! It’s all about supporting the network and the privacy ethos. ⛏️ 14:51:51 @john_xmr:matrix.org Interesting... and... you are mining on a laptop? 15:05:07 Yes, but it's an Apple Silicon M5 ARM. The performance-per-watt ratio on RandomX is insane compared to x86. I’m not running it 24/7 on battery either; it's on a dedicated external ventilated stand to keep thermals strictly under control. The setup is clean. 💻❄️ 15:19:21 What software are you using to mine, @john_xmr:matrix.org? 16:30:22 john_xmr are you mining on macbook air? What's the hashrate and power at the wall? 16:40:39 @Josh Babb I'm using XMRig connected to the MoneroOcean pool. @sech1 It's a MacBook Pro, not an Air (active cooling is mandatory!). I'm pushing around 5,000 H/s (5 KH/s). I don't have a wattmeter at the wall right now, but it's Apple Silicon magic, so it barely sips power compared to a standard x86 rig.
