i skimmed through and they give two similar ish cases toward the end.(51 , 52) One of a bank teller who stole some money (given 4 years on some 'correctional supervision regime' (no prison) and another case where the money was repaid and all was forgiven.

<luigi1111w> "I think it was transferred to..." <- Wait, fluffy is now sysadmin of monerosocial, not pigeons?
-
xmrscott[m]
<selsta> "no prison" <- And this is important because extradition from US TMK requires the accused sentence to be 1+ year in both US and other country
-
xmrscott[m]
Not that fp would flee SA anyways
-
luigi1111w
xmrscott[m] no I think pigeons is still doing that work

rottenwheel: it is a witness statement from SA lawyer in response to the statement made by SA prosecutor.

i always worry that someone will generate my key pair someday.
-
midipoet
but perhaps that is foolish thinking
-
luigi1111w
it is unlikely (PRNG notwithstanding)
-

if you are using your smartfridge to generate monero keys, you might be in trouble

Is anyone else unable to connect to the monero.social Matrix server? I am getting an SSL error saying the server's cert is invalid. Been getting this for a day or two now. Didn't realize why I couldn't connect, until I saw the error code.
-
lotusflare
Upon further inspection, I see SSL cert errors from web browsers (trying different VPNs, TOR, etc). Perhaps the cert expired?
-
Guest51
I can't connect either.

sethsimmons: do you know who manages monero.social?
-
xmrscott[m]1
<lotusflare> "sethsimmons: do you know who..." <- pigeons
-
xmrscott[m]1
<lotusflare> "Upon further inspection, I see..." <- Issue is a cert conflict between what server the cert is on (monero.social) and what it is actually for (matrix.monero.social)
-
pigeons[m]
monero.social matrix/synapse server is back, took that downtime to upgrade as well, sorry for the inconvenience, looking into prevention
-
lotusflare
Thanks xmrscott[m]1 pigeons[m] !

<lotusflare> "Is anyone else unable to connect..." <- It's improperly configured, try using matrix.monero.social to connect.
-
pigeons[m]
I work with monero.social
-
sethsimmons
It can work depending on if clients enforce proper SSL certs or not.
-
pigeons[m]
I'll look at that cert issue, i think configuration management keeps reverting it
-
sethsimmons
The certs current DN is `fider.monero.social`
-
sethsimmons
* The certs current CN is `fider.monero.social`
-
sethsimmons
The only alt is also `fider.monero.social`
-
pigeons[m]
ok give me a few minutes
-
sethsimmons
Should probably just use a unified LE cert for monero.social with alts of all of the subdomains
-
crypto_grampy[m]
seems to be working great now

In light if recent issues regarding ring inputs being exposed if sent immediately, what is the recommended minimum time to wait before sending.
-
chad[m]
I never spend immediately, but I want to be sure I am waiting long enough to not hurt my privacy

1h+ is the recommendation
-
sethsimmons
Median spend is 1.8d IIRC, so if you really want to blend in around there would be ideal.
-
sethsimmons
But that's obviously not necessary.
