Rucknium[m]escapethe3ra: Awesome! I added it to my stickied post on r/Monero. You might also want to post it in #monero-recruitment:monero.social

ErCiccioneCould this tweet be shared by the "Monero" twitter account? It's getting quite few visibility, but i think many could be interested in the position: twitter.com/HavenoDEX/status/1451119571239321604
-
ErCiccionefor "quite few" i mean it's not getting much visibility. Some help from accounts with a large following would be very appreciated
-
sethsimmons<ErCiccione> "Could this tweet be shared by..." <- I shared myself but forwarded on asking for it to be shared from @monero as well.
-
sethsimmonsShould definitely be shared from there.

Save_G[m]idk I'm just interested in how it would work to send someone a fake transaction in the mempool that shows up in their GUI wallet if they have a full node
-
komikono[m]from my understanding, the only way to exploit it would be if the customer sends the tx directly to your node and simultaneously sends another tx with same output but himself another receiver to a different node. But it would still be a gamble for the customer and the setup would be way too much work for a coffee.
-
komikono[m]himsel/another receiver
-
Save_G[m]ok thank you
-
Save_G[m]I just wanted an explenation for this because In my brain I was like: a 0 confirmation transactions would just be as save as a 30k confirmation transaction
-
anarkiocrypto[m]There are double spend tools for Bitcoin and altcoins (send the payment TX first, then resend the same amount to your own wallet with a higher fee, so the vendor sees the unconfirmed payment TX in the mempool but your self-send TX gets confirmed first, which invalidates the payment TX and the vendor never receives payment).
-
anarkiocrypto[m]But I heard Monero has some in-built protection against double spends. Not sure about details.
-
anarkiocrypto[m]Unconfirmed TXs are just stored in the mempool, can be double spent, dropped or deleted, and aren't mined or written to the blockchain yet. Confirmed transactions were mined, are permanently stored in the blockchain and can't be deleted or double spent.
-
anarkiocrypto[m]For a $2 coffee it probably isn't worth it, for e.g. a $500 laptop purchase, just wait the 2 minutes for 1 confirmation.

luigi1111monero doesn't support replace by fee on any public software afaik, so naive double spending is quite difficult
