I dont know the actual details of the dev team, and havent checked GitHub. Could be a few devs working on it, im not sure. But it looks like Woodser is working day and night to get it done

You just change the socks proxy and then out an an I2p node, no? Lol

The only setup gui should do, is to create a new eeepsite and set up anon inbound and txproxy for you

I only say this because. .. my tor nodes "just work"

Sets up onion and config automatically, and gives you a notification to copy your onion etc.

So gui toggle "run anon node" should / could use the onion and eepsite generation tools, allow vanity generation, and make a pretty config for for the node to use.

But I dont know if I like the idea of I2p and tor being built in, when gui could launch a command to run tor/I2p and error if not installed

yeah including tor is an issue for anti viruses, and i2p zero's maintenance or lack of (keeping both updated) if vulnerabilities are found etc another concern hm

I updated from 18.0.0 to 18.2.0 and when I run ./monerod --data-dir=. It is restarting the synch from zero

I am 94% complete and I basically break this laptop out at my local crypto currency meeting for like a few hours at a time.

.bitmonero is the important folder you need 'somewhere' that --data-dir=/points/to/.bitmonero

just// put it somewhere permanent so we're not having to do this every update

by default the .bitmonero folder is in your /home folder

yeah just cut the .bitmonero in 18.0.0 , paste it into /home/username

then ./monerod

so you have /home/username/.bitmonero

every update... no need to worry, hands free ./monerod

I am on linux so It may not be a folder

its a hidden folder .bitmonero , you can open a terminal inside 18.0.0 and "ls -la"

should be fine, you can even delete the log file (a new one will be created)

all you need is the .bitmonero folder copied to /home/username , running ./monerod will find it

strange still started from 0

exit , and retry with ./monerod --data-dir/home/username/.bitmonero

./monerod --data-dir=/home/username/.bitmonero

if this starts and syncs from zero then you didnt copy the .bitmonero folder from 18.0.0 to the correct place

(replace username with your username - type "whoami" in a terminal if you need a reminder)

IDK man I am going to change the folder direction. with the command you suggested but it is still starting from scratch.

if this starts syncing from zero then, you need to cut / paste the .bitmonero folder from inside 18.0.0 to /home/plowsof

i can only repeat the same advice
