Rucknium[m]0x1zxq7896lp2zero: Nodes need to be able to discover each other. Without peer discovery, the network falls apart. What improvements do you expect from that paper? (Except for the fact that the authors said they would release their network-crawling software, but they didn't?)

M0x1zxq7896lp2ze<Rucknium[m]> "0x1zxq7896lp2zero: Nodes need to..." <- yea that only a paper about p2p network lookup and analysis of monero network
-
M0x1zxq7896lp2zelet hope i2p and noise protocol p2p is being worked on
-
M0x1zxq7896lp2ze
-
M0x1zxq7896lp2zedon't know about this though ccs.getmonero.org/proposals/anon-perfect-peer-to-peer-protocol.html
-
Rucknium[m]Unfortunately, unreliable anonymity networks can't be relied on for the whole network. That includes Tor and i2p. Both had DDoS attacks in the last year. Monero cannot have a temporary network outage.
-
Rucknium[m]I think the p2p protocol obfuscation that vtnerd is working on would be optional and opt-in. Most nodes would still use the standard Monero p2p port and clearnet connection behavior.

M0x1zxq7896lp2zewell at least somethings is better than nothing

M0x1zxq7896lp2ze* well at least having something is better than nothing

plowsof11<ofrnxmr[m]> "The peer review is funded..." <- The bp++ real final_final_v2_final is now released, Sarang is on vacation until August. It came with a Rust implementation too (better than haskell for people to work with) and fixed a vulnerability in the earlier version (xmrack noticed that point first)
