<rbrunner7:monero.social> From their whitepaper: "it would be advantageous to have the capability to prevent any conversion to XMR if XMRT transactions are associated with any detected and reported illegal activities". But surely they would never stop to pay out for as simple a reason as a lack of XMR.

<kayabanerve:matrix.org> There's no info provided on the Monero custody and insufficient info provided on the transparency. I'd stay away.
-
m-relay
<kayabanerve:matrix.org> They also just told me they're planning a hot wallet for 1000 XMR, but don't worry, it's fine because that XMR will initially be theirs (despite then selling wrapped XMR which can redeem it)

<r4v3r23:monero.social> something as criticial as ccs should fall on 1 persons shoulders, not to mention proposal authors need more support than what 1 person can do

<detherminal:monero.social> I didn't made any work completely focused on UI/UX, just tried to make Stack Wallet better 😉😄
-
m-relay
<r4v3r23:monero.social> you have no previous work in ux?
-
m-relay
<detherminal:monero.social> many ux, see my github contribs to stack wallet. custom block explorer, openalias, reading aloud for accesibility etc.

<busyboredom:tchncs.de> I like dethermal's proposal, I think a non-wallet2-based wallet would be great for the ecosystem and could help spot implementation bugs and firm up the "spec" similar to what cuperate is doing for nodes.
-
m-relay
<busyboredom:tchncs.de> My only nitpick is that it seems like this could be built on serai instead of making a bespoke wallet lib. Not sure if that siggestion has already been posed, I'm not fully up to date on the discussion so far.
-
m-relay
<busyboredom:tchncs.de> Detherminal* sorry, typod your username.
-
m-relay
<detherminal:monero.social> kayaba specially recommended me to use monero-serai in other works but i personally am not sure if its complete enough to make a wallet. why not, if the community says built it like this, i can. (except wallet2 ofc 😁)
-
m-relay
<busyboredom:tchncs.de> If there's functionality missing from serai, I think adding it to serai would be more beneficial to the ecosystem than implementing it separately. Two birds with one stone -- serai gets more complete for other devs, and end users get a shiny new wallet.
-

<r4v3r23:monero.social> the new wallet liv has already been shot down
