The MoneroTopia marketing seems a no brainer yes.
-
midipoet
I cannot see how anyone would say no to that, or even try to play some sort of gatekeeper with it. It's XMR that's been sitting doing nothing for ages, being spent on a dedicated purpose to promote a Monero event, by one of the original members of working group for which the XMR was intended.

4 days to implement a marketing proposal? topia starts Thursday

I guess they will get ads in the weekend papers and at least on Monday/Tuesday? Who knows. Even getting a host of coordinated ads around the event is probably worthwhile just for exposure, if nothing more, and might help for next year (assuming it will be there again). Havung said that the request for this CCS was made a while ago. Not sure why it took this long.

<eclairrarity:matrix.org> Why no L2 stablecoin (wrapped) moneros like a XUSD, XEUR etc? Could be proof-of-stake in Monero (view-only wallet) with a buffer to cover moving average fluctuations in monero price. All wrapped monero should be automatically convertible to non-wrapped XMR with on-network spends using network-consensus exchange rate (+ network fees) to other Xcurrency wallets.

<eclairrarity:matrix.org> Use-case: Provably non-scam stablecoin(s) with all the privacy benefits of monero
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> you mean like tether?
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> ah wait you want to use monero collateral to mint the stable and oracalize the price?
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> not possible
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> proof of stake needs to be able to slash you
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> you cant slash someone based on a viewkey
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> Monero is very stable by itself already
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> you can probably have stables on Tari once that launches
-
m-relay
<eclairrarity:matrix.org> yes
-
m-relay
<eclairrarity:matrix.org> Doesn't have to be a viewkey, if there is other proof
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> there is no way to do tis
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> there is no way to do this
-
m-relay
<monerobull:matrix.org> we dont have the logic to do staking
