<kewbit:matrix.org> I used the plural on devil
-
m-relay
<kewbit:matrix.org> The correct phrasing would be “the devil’s spawn” if you’re referring to multiple people who are metaphorically being described as the offspring of the devil. The phrase “devil’s spawn” is a fixed idiomatic expression in English, typically used to describe someone perceived as evil or malevolent.
-
m-relay
<kewbit:matrix.org> Explanation:
-
m-relay
<kewbit:matrix.org> • “The devil’s spawn” is possessive, indicating that the “spawn” (offspring) belongs to “the devil.” It’s singular possessive, but “spawn” can refer to multiple people collectively in this context.
-
m-relay
<kewbit:matrix.org> • “The devil’s spawns” is grammatically incorrect because “spawn” is usually treated as a collective noun, meaning it doesn’t require a plural form. Adding an “s” would be unnecessary and awkward.
-
m-relay
<kewbit:matrix.org> So, if you’re describing multiple people as manifestations of evil, the phrase “the devil’s spawn” works perfectly.
-
m-relay
<kewbit:matrix.org> Even GPT1-previous agrees

<siren:kernal.eu> Yes. However I'm currently busy working on my graduation thesis, this is why I asked how long the process takes. I wouldn't be able to start working on the proposal right away if it got approved.

<rucknium:monero.social> SyntheticBird: You can run for a seat. And you ( SyntheticBird ) should.
-
m-relay
<sgp_:monero.social> Siren: that looks great; we only need basic functionality. Is that something I can use for the election?
-
m-relay
<rucknium:monero.social> Siren: The committee set a maximum of 3 weeks to decide on an application (it's said at the bottom of
donate.magicgrants.org/monero/apply ). But usually it can be decided in a shorter period of time. Once the committee decides, it can take at least one week for all the paperwork to be finalized (committee members' conflict-of-interest form, applicant's KYC, MAGIC Board final approval).
-
m-relay
<rucknium:monero.social> Siren: I think the committee would likely approve funding for continued development of MoneroPay, especially if there are upstream benefits like improvements to the docs and reliability of `monero-wallet-rpc`.
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> I'm already busy with other engagements and lack of knowledge/connections. I can't guarantee to meet up the expectations of a committee member, but thx for the reminder.
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> Probably yes. Being the system administrator for MK, I can't say I like Cryptpad very much. The deployment is quite painful. We don't use it for voting but rather for documentation purposes.
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> My proposal would involve this. MoneroPay v3 is evolving towards becoming a watchdog program for monero-wallet-rpc (performing health checks, managing nodes and wallets). But mainly the proposal would be about my alternative solution for BTCPayServer called Metronero. The core functionality is already implemented but it is not production ready enough. It needs more documentation and testing.
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> I don't plan on including this part in the proposal but in the wider scheme of things - Metronero can work as a frontend for all MoneroPay powered projects such as the Monero ATM.
-
m-relay
<sgp_:monero.social> We wouldn't use it for voting, only for collecting voter registrations

<siren:kernal.eu> Overall, I'd like to deliver something sustainable. Also some people want Metronero to support more cryptocurrencies, with Monero being the first class citizen. I feel that more thought needs to go into this.
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> It's not that other privacy cryptocurrency projects have offered me any money for integrations. I just think that multi-currency support would be good.
-

<siren:kernal.eu> It's not that other privacy cryptocurrency projects have offered me any money for integrations. I just think that multi-currency support would be good given how big of a pain BTCPayServer is.
