-

I like this.
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Bro, you dont have a dick. Stop the cap
-
dukenukem
turns out xmrglobal will encrypt all messages you send to your counterpart using that person's PGP key and it will show the PGP encrypted message block, even if you just send: "syntheticbird is a larper."
-
dukenukem
nice. big fat pgp blocks everywhere.
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> If xmrglobal.io can really pay up the contributor amount, I don't think it's qtip. Probably someone else who uses AI but that's fine as long as it works.
-
» dukenukem checks how much contributor sponsorship tier is for morenokon five.
-

5.2k!
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> Yeah that doesn't throw around

-

definitely not a platform for mainstream adoption and constant usage like LocalMonero. UI is clunky around the edges, but this whole PGP workflow is refreshing.
-
dukenukem
many comrades from the deep seas will find the similarities. ;D
-
midipoet
Why do we think it's always bad if people use AI?
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> Welp. He's not gonna make back that 5k any time from trades on xmrglobal.io.
-
midipoet
And what did XMR Global use AI for?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> i ont think xmrglobal is qtip
-
midipoet
I don't either
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> he's not competent enough to even spin up a haveno network that builds
-
m-relay
<siren:kernal.eu> That would be a long term investment for his platform
-
midipoet
It's actually quite a nice flow. I used localmonero a fair bit in the past, and it's comparably user-friendly. There are even some things it does better. Though there are some bugs still.
-
dukenukem
midipoet: "Your withdrawal request has been sent successfully!"
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> But i dont trust xmrglobal any more than I trust localmonero.me
-
dukenukem
Status: "Waiting approval"
-
dukenukem
I had to decrypt a PGP message, get a 2FA code and put it in before confirming withdrawal. PGP-wise, workflow is flawless.
-
dukenukem
Spare me with the UI whining, the stuff works so far.
-
midipoet
Mine says "Send" now (after manual reload). Should be "Sent" or "Approved".
-
midipoet
Feather sees it
-
dukenukem
Indeed.
-
dukenukem

-

still waiting approval...
-
NorrinRadd
"turns out xmrglobal will encrypt all messages you send to your counterpart using that person's PGP key and it will show the PGP encrypted message block" -- so they get the cleartext at first... no bueno
-
midipoet
^ probably true
-
dukenukem
NorrinRadd: true that. should encourage to manually encrypt and optionally offer an option to tick if you want server-side clear text encryption with pairs PGP keys.
-
dukenukem
instead of having server-side be the default.
-
midipoet
But Local Monero also got all cleartext (as i remember)
-
dukenukem
that's how they honeypot xanax bar heads!
-
dukenukem
LM wasn't ever open source and always claimed messaging was encrypted, but that was only you trusting their word for it.
-
dukenukem
safest will always be to _manually_ decrypt and encrypt PGP, like I did, right-click brat! :P
-
dukenukem
OK, it updated to `Send`. Checking wallet recent txs. now.
-
dukenukem
syncing...
-
dukenukem
yup, 2 confirmations and counting, I see it in my wallet.
-
dukenukem

-
NorrinRadd
because rug pulls never took months to happen before
-
dukenukem
said no one ever.
-
dukenukem
OK. Server-side PGP encryption of plain text, no bueno. Suggestion: add option for user to tick if they *want* you to get plain text messages and for you to encrypt server-side, to then offer counterparty PGP encrypted message block. Encourage manual decrypt/encrypt of plain text, agnostic from XMRGlobal workflows.
-
midipoet
anyway, i enjoyed the process. If anything, rotten scammed me for my XMR.
-

Yes. Yes we are talking about money. money, as a medium of exchange, does not work correctly if you believe everyone is an enemy. there is an element of trust in almost every monetary transaction, at some layer. If you don't believe that, then fine, it's up to you. But if everyone is an enemy to you, you must lead a pretty damn lonely life.
