<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> NACK :P. 1500 is monerkon meetings right?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 1700**

true

<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> So choice is between 1600 and 1800, west coast america is ~7am, east coast ~11am. I think were missing parts of asia russia australia (middle of night) but cover most everywhere else
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Push it to a later time and we just exclude more people because how many ppl live in timezone 2hrs before west coast america?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Ive been eating candy all day, so apologies if i dont make sense

<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> @nioc after daylight saving time (a couple weeks from now), is that 9am?
-
m-relay
<aremor:matrix.org> Yeah
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> -8 -> -5 in usa and -8 -> -3.5 in canada right now
-
m-relay
<aremor:matrix.org> Idk the original topic, but yes “spring forward, fall back”
-
m-relay
<aremor:matrix.org> Well that’s continental US only. Much larger if you include AK and HI
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 9am-1pm usa and 9am-330pm canada
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> At 1800 that puts north america at 11am->530pm (10am->530 incl alaska)
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> who benefits from the later time? The pacific ocean :P?
-
m-relay
<aremor:matrix.org> For me, tz isn’t the issue. It’s just a standing prior commitment
-
m-relay
<aremor:matrix.org> But yes does benefit AK and HI in general though
-
nioc
Be like china and have everyone in one timezone
-
m-relay
<aremor:matrix.org> Just remembered that a huge percentage of CS skilled USA is on the west coast. 8am in a Saturday is a little weird
-
m-relay
<aremor:matrix.org> If CA was a country, it’d be 5th worldwide in GDP
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 1600 is still a fine tz for ak
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 8am isnt weird at all .. and its 9am in a couple weeks, 8am for alaska
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Do people like, wake up at noon or smthn? I cant see how 8am would be a problem. I think its more of an inconvenience for _everyone else_ than the west coast
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Like, "interrupt other plans by carving an hour out of your day at 4pm" is worse than "meeting after breakfast"
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> The ideal time for a meeting on a saturday, is as early as possible, as to not interrupt other other activities. On a weekday it would make more sense to try to avoid 9-5 whenever possible
