<spirobel:kernal.eu> the recently audited frost multisig is good before and after fcmp. It was mainly created for serai, but its helpful beyond that. For example in the case of this browser wallet to enable the ability to split the key material over multiple devices.

<spirobel:kernal.eu> your argument is fluff. You are losing it and now you are getting desperate to just say things.

<spirobel:kernal.eu> the argument was somehow that browser wallets le bad because they are not "cypherpunk enough". Amir Taaki's dark wallet project is somehow not cypherpunk enough as well. it is getting ridiculous

<spirobel:kernal.eu> I have an idea for that. The issue is that most chat apps have trouble with native uris and dont turn them into links. Even web based application will keep them as plain text and they have to be copied to be followed. We can possibly get around that by using a web link schema and let the browser wallet handle them. there will be some circumstances where this isn't ideal, but in ma<clipped message>

didn't Amir Taaki want VC funding for his Dark Fi project? that doesn't sounds too cypherpunk to me.

<spirobel:kernal.eu> I dont know man. It also does not really matter. The fact is that dark wallet was seen as cypherpunk at the time and it refutes this stupid argument that browser wallets are somehow not cypherpunk enough. I also dont get the mumblings against "bringing defi culture to monero" as if that is something bad. I just hope we can get this merged soon. It feels more and more like fightin<clipped message>

i don't know enough about the technicalities to have a position about whether a browser/web wallet is a good or a bad thing. personally, i would imagine more wallets/more functionality the better, at a very high level - regardless of whether the wallets are web-based or not. Also, DeFi is a pretty broad term - and i would think that Monero is already a DeFi project, just not that integrated into the broader DeFi

ecosystem, mainly due to interoperability issues at the technical and ideological levels.
-
midipoet
but i guess other people might strongly disagree with that perspective

m-relay
<spirobel:kernal.eu> reasonable take
-
m-relay
<spirobel:kernal.eu> browser wallet certainly helps with the interoperability issues
