<diego:cypherstack.com> @sgp_: Justin coming to take over the wallet space
-
br-m
<sgp_> lol. releasing a niche wallet is a bad strategy for that
-
plowsof
add monero-lws support for a monthly subscription like netflix and a tshirt
-
br-m
<diego:cypherstack.com> paid in fiat of course
-
br-m
<sgp_> make sure to rate 1 star on google play
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> @diego:cypherstack.com: Tbf, we needed an easier way to test lws
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Mymonero 🚮, edge convoluted and requires uploading (encrypted) seeds to their servers
-
br-m
<kayabanerve:matrix.org> I liked when we didn't test anything and just shipped to prod
-
br-m
<hbs:matrix.org> @kayabanerve:matrix.org: Testing is doubting
-
br-m
<kayabanerve:matrix.org> Never doubt yourself ^

<sgp_> there were a lot of super basic issues with lws that we uncovered while making the app. LWS didn't support sending transactions with many ring members. LWS didn't support p2pool correctly. subaddresses were cumbersome to the point of being impossible on a UX side. A bunch of issues with restoring. But, these are fixed or getting better now
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I still dont have subaddresses working @ all fwiw
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Restore doesnt accept the restore height properly either
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> but yeah, improving for sure
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> @ofrnxmr:xmr.mx: And worst issue is have, is that once fully synced, my balance disappears
-
plowsof
i have received to subaddresses in skywallet at least, my issue is - if you turn your monero-lws off, thats running in docker, and restart, accoutns wiped, and skywallet decides to clear transactions and resync from now maybe
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I didnt turn mine off
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 1. Restore from seed
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 2. Lws doesnt accept the restore height, so need to set manually and rescan
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 3. Rescan starts, tx history and balance shows
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 4. Rescan finishes and balance and history are gone
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 5. At no point am i able to view a subaddress. Always shows "exceeded" in skylight
-
br-m
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I have max-subaddresses=20000 set in config, and lws itself doesnt complain about subaddresses being exceeded now
-
br-m
<sgp_> if you delete the wallet and then restore the wallet after it's scanned, do the transactions appear?
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I think i tried that, will try again
-
br-m
<sgp_> giving restore commands from any wallet to LWS is, in a word, "broken" currently
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Nope
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> (Nope, still lost history)
-
br-m
<sgp_> did you only receive funds in subaddresses?
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Only to main ddr
-
br-m
<sgp_> lws restore requires you to manually add all the subaddresses you want to scan on restore currently, afaik
-
br-m
<sgp_> hmm
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> And the balance shows while syncing, but disappears after synced
-
br-m
<sgp_> try completely deleting the app cache/data
-
br-m
<sgp_> I'm not sure that is the cause but it would help narrow down
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Same
-
br-m
<sgp_> ok I'll need to check a few things and as you more questions later
-
br-m
<sgp_> when did you update/install monero-lws?
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I built it yesterday? Day before?
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> using the subaddress pr
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> But i tested on master and develop first
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I also used a fresh lws db
-
br-m
<videogaming:matrix.org> good to know that having my actual main mail address for administrative things (under my full name) is now getting closed
-
br-m
<videogaming:matrix.org> and that you're dancing on that grave, that's some cool shits in the monero community lol
-
br-m
<videogaming:matrix.org> right now it's my streaming/gaming mail address, which am down to get it closed too, it's whatever at this point, it's less valuable to me than the other one anyways
-
br-m
<videogaming:matrix.org> but i hope that doxxing myself proved the point of the rot that been around in the community
-
br-m
<videogaming:matrix.org> yall have a good one, and stay safe[... more lines follow, see
