What kind of person steals from their own community?
removeddit.com/r/Monero/comments/6d…ds_to_give_up_his_commit_access_and (changed link to removeddit since /r/monero mod removed to try to cover it up - maybe fluffy himself?)

Remember kids. If you call project coral reef for what it is - fluffypony embezzling half a mil usd from the monero fund for a website with smaller adoption than monero woo plugin, you will get excommunicated. Why do you think charities need Teslas? They don't and Elon won't support Monero 150k will sure buy a lot of party time for those that actually do get it.

Hello
-
zvf9r9mc4v[m]
I am looking for help with setting up a remote node and seed node
-
zvf9r9mc4v[m]
is this the right place to ask?
-
moneromooo
No, try #monero
-
moneromooo
If you want to have the seed node in the monero source though, you can ask that here.
-
utxobr[m]
zvf9r9mc4v: welcome! #monero`
-
utxobr[m]
(whopps, hit enter before intended) #monero is better suited, I'd say - on that topic, sethsimmons has two great guides on setting up nodes:
sethsimmons.me/guides/run-a-monero-node and
sethsimmons.me/guides/run-a-monero-node-advanced

<l33t_bit[m] "It's generally a boilerplate "do"> Yeah, I get that. I just mean, if someone violates the CoC, what is the consequence? => they are banned from contributing to the repo (PRs, issues, reviews, etc). Since its a code repository, the only "jurisdiction" such a document can have is over "contributions to the repository"; which is already covered by CONTRIBUTING.md.
-
chad[m]
At the risk of also being cynical, I jusy don't see the need to add a new document to focus on one specific piece of an already existing document. Its a code repository, not the constitution, haha
-
sethsimmons
Would just be for clarity but it absolutely doesn't need to happen.
-
chad[m]
Sorry.. I'm a bit touchy on the subject. I'm a part of several projects, who's codebases have seen more contributions to the legal/license/CoC documents, than to the actual code itself 😅
-
sethsimmons
Oof, that certainly sounds bad. I have no strong feelings for/against out CoC, just thought that if we have one then we should make it standalone so it's more clear that we do have one.
-
l33t_bit[m]
<chad[m] "Yeah, I get that. I just mean, i"> I completely agree with your sentiment.
-
l33t_bit[m]
Just because a checkbox exists in github, doesn't mean your project actually needs it.
-
TrasherDK[m]
ndorf: Somebody should pin that answer (monero zmq) s a top thing-to-remember when talking to a monerod
-
TrasherDK[m]
<sethsimmons "Oof, that certainly sounds bad. "> I was thinking, now, a few years down the line, nobody should be in doubt of the monero code of conduct.

You will DO what Monero tells you to do. You will JUMP when you are told to jump. And most importantly you will DISCONNECT whoever Scientology^H^H^H^H^H I mean Mnero tells you to disconnect. Otherwise you WILL end up like lh1008 here:
-
bnbafvgqppq
monerologs.net/monero-community/20210114#c181614 And you will do it all for FREE. Because Monero is open souce :D Just like Linux is there to pay for $700k watches that Torvalds wears.

-
xmrscott[m]
If memory serves they worked on Kovri and/or I2P stuff for Monero maybe going back maybe 3+ years?
-
TrasherDK[m]
I knew I remembered that name from somewhere. That might be it.
-
xmrscott[m]
I only remember because of the alliteration and the name tying into network work
-
luigi1111w
thanks
-
camthegeek
you can close issue 7414. I don't see an option to do it on my end.

-
anchor[m]
what constitutes as spam according to that bot
-
xmrscott[m]
Basically being another bot and spamming pump and dump links or otherwise being a bot that repeats the same thing over and over again w/ ill intent
-
anchor[m]
well I wasn't doing either
-
anchor[m]
I was just sharing a little project I was proud of
-
wfaressuissia[m]
welcome to the world with censorship :D
-
xmrscott[m]
Typically -dev is not the place to post images of other projects. There's -community and #monero for that
-
anchor[m]
well sorry
-
anchor[m]
does that warrant a ban though
-
anchor[m]
I wasn't even able to join the other ones because the bot autobans me when I join lmao
-
xmrscott[m]
Please PM Mumuks if you want to be unbanned
-
moneromooo
I see no ban. You seem to have quit on your own.
-
moneromooo
Oh, out of IRC maybe ? nvm.
