cypherpluto[m]Hi guys i have a question, are we able to use a vpn while running a locale node on the monero GUI Desktop wallet
-
cypherpluto[m]or that wouldn't be smart?
-
moneromoooYour question is too vague to have an answer.
-
moneromoooIt does sound like a question for #monero too.
-
moneromooo(if you ask more precisely)
-
cypherpluto[m]sorry
-
moneromoooIf you mean running wallet and daemon locally, but use a VPN for p2p daemon connections to other nodes, it's fine.
-
moneromoooI kinda confused vpn and vps in my first reading, so the vagueness was my fault :)
-
cypherpluto[m]is okay and i meant like running something like OpenVpn then Running the Daemon node for the GUI wallet? im just making sure im able to run a vpn while also accessing my Monero GUI wallet
-
moneromoooYes, that's fine.
-
moneromoooYou probbly won't get incoming connections though (depends on your vpn).
-
moneromoooThat makes your connection to the p2p network a bit more brittle, but everything will still work.
-
cypherpluto[m]Thank you! and yes thats what I've noticed ! but essentially it was for more privacy. so yeah i understand now
-
cypherpluto[m]So no one would know im even accessing a xmr wallet
