Out of pure curiosity, has anyone tried writing parts of monero in a different language?

A few people came in wanting to rewrite in rust. They were typically directed to start with the wallet in a way that's incremental. Never heard from any again.

The wallet crypto got replaced by some x86_64 asm not too long ago.

hello, I have problem connecting the gui wallet to monerod, since monerod gives socks error all the time. I got suggested that I could use whonix. could you suggest me an alternative way to fix it?

Did you check the README ?

IIRC there's some env var to allow local connections on some platforms.

The README.md is in the root tree of the git repo. It might not be included in the binary archive.

compare your proposal with others and check the formatting
