Even though github is considered the "main" source of the Monero code - even if someone maliciously made changes to the code, the miners would not verify transactions that did not follow the previously agreed upon rules. So when changes are made, miners can choose to go along with them or fork (use their own set of rules).

:/ monero-gui uses url format for a view only wallet qr code, while feather uses json in the qr for it, I'm more in support of the first one, but maybe someone has a reason to implemt it in json over url, it sucks a bit for me, no I have 4 options 1.) url, 2.) json, 3.) ask the user (worse UX) 4.) animate the QR code to show both in repeating sequence (sucks, too IMO). Any thoughts?
