Guest6Hello, I'm trying to learn more about tx_proofs, and more specifically OutProofs. It's semi-unclear, so I want to verify. Is it possible to verify an OutProof offline without access to a node, with enough confidence?

jeffro256Guest6: no. The verification of a tx proof relies on determining whether the data is actually on-chain. You can have a proof that an enote is addressed to you off-chain, but that means nothing unless it's posted to a shared ledger

binarybaronHow much resources does running a public remote node take? I have 10 vCPU cores and 24 GB RAM but can't use much more than 15 TB bandwidth per month
