<boog900:monero.social> I have had a massive uptick in nodes found ~1100 IPs all together now:

<boog900:monero.social> To anyone running nodes please ban those IPs

Is someone running successfully monero multisig on a server and not locally ? If yes, on what provider is it ?
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> I already achieve multisig but it was on two different *PC* not servers
-
Guest16
Locally i also do not have any issues either on Windows or Debian 12, i am having issues on VPS or dedicated Servers and i wonder if someone hosts it from some provider and knows its working there
-
Guest16
I know it does work on DigitalOcean but would like to hear some other Providers possible

-
ofrnxmr
and what error are you getting
-
ofrnxmr
i tested it a few days ago on a debian12 couldimg
-
Guest16
"Failed to derive public key" - on DigitalOcean Ubuntu 24.04 it works perfectly fine though
-
Guest16
Locally or on a server ?
-
ofrnxmr
why would it make a difference if its the same os?
-
Guest16
Thats the mystery im asking myself about lol I can just say that locally on Debian 12 and on DigitalOcean Ubuntu 24.04 it works super fine, on all other providers it fails on Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 12 - tested 5 different providers
-
ofrnxmr
try again and report at what step it fails and fhe full output
-
ofrnxmr
also the params youre trying to use (2/3 3/3 etc)
-
Guest16
It happens at the second round of exchange_multisig_keys where you provide all 3 keys of the first exchange rounds (in 2/3) and the full output is just "Failed to derive public key", which is of the wallet on the server, the other 2 wallets which are locally can finalize it properly. If i have all 3 wallets on the server, all 3 wallets fail, also
-
Guest16
tried it with remote nodes which also fails so it has nothing todo with the node itself somehow
-
ofrnxmr
Dont need a node for the setup
-
ofrnxmr
Are you using release bianries? Or self compiled?
-
Guest16
Yes i know, was just pointing it out - i used the release binaries on all tests
-
ofrnxmr
since the wallet is broken, can you upload the full stdout for each
-
Guest16
I dont think the wallet is broken, i also imported wallets from locally where it is working fine and vice versa - if i export the wallet from the "broken" server and run it locally, it can finalize the multisig on the wallet - super strange.

all my nodes use --tx-proxy (tor/i2p) with noise disabled boog900 , i will add the ban list soon
-

<boog900:monero.social> thanks, I am interested in how these nodes proxy requests, probably not that important but would've been interesting.
-
gingeropolous_
haproxy could prolly do it, right?
