<rustydev:matrix.org> Congratulations for making good spirit of it

<syntheticbird:monero.social> dead internet theory

<rustydev:matrix.org> You’d be unpleasantly surprised how many alts are behind just one shadow player, puppeteering this community.

<rustydev:matrix.org> I’ve rewritten the Monero wallet2 in rust, with that annoying chacha8 shit, it creates, reads, signs, submits and syncs (kinda) because I took me a while to understand how the fuck it’s being seralized into the wallet file, it however doesn’t work with ancient versions
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> I am also not motivated to make it compatible
-
m-relay
<rbrunner7:monero.social> RustyDev: What was your motivation to do that, and what would you say you achieved with this rewrite?
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> Tiny binary

m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> Runs on anything you can imagine

<rustydev:matrix.org> Nice TCP SOCKS5 tunnel bridge with tokio socks and classic tor or arti too, for example if you have a local service port or Unix socket running you can connect to a tunnel which connects you directly to an onion service without having to worry about application specific fuckery to hide yo shit, there is a mock onion control port too listener too but it communicates in a more user <clipped message>

<rustydev:matrix.org> friendly way so that other developers can actually get on with some shit too without the brainfuck
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> Separate packages but compliment the future ease of of development with Monero related software products for sure, ultimately I think this will be why it wins, and was worth spending 24 hours doing it

<rustydev:matrix.org> I’m surprised no one is barking FOSS yet. Well done.
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> And I forgot to congratulate Rucknium
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> You did well to block nodes with my distinct pattern
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> But what till you see what’s up next
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> But my calculation is that there is no enough legitimate nodes to protect from this next one

m-relay
<rbrunner7:monero.social> No one is barking anything right now, actually :)
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> I know
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> So what makes you the confident one, was it figuring out 2 of 3 multisig?
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> Which could have been done better btw
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> But it’s fine, or is it?
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> 😅
-
m-relay
<rbrunner7:monero.social> Really not sure what you want to hint at, but I guess it does not matter too much. Have to leave anyway now, night in my place.
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> Yes
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> That’s fine
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> Fluffy, come out to play please, any of your alts is fine.
-
m-relay
<rustydev:matrix.org> Next time when I say hi to you on the street please don’t be so rude either.
