br-m<woodser> it used to be that monero-project had to be built on ubuntu 20.04 for reliable cross-platform builds using depends, otherwise the encryption used by the binaries could easily produce corrupted wallets
-
br-m<woodser> has anything improved here, so at least ubuntu 24.04 can be used?
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 22.04 gcc is broken
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 24.04 doesnt make corrupt arm wallets
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Debian 12 is also fine
-
selstaregarding broken wallet, I remember this somewhat, is there an issue with more detail?
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> monero-project/monero #9371
-
selstaworth it to investigate and add a potential workaround for compiler bug or not?
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I dont think so - at the time we just skiped 22.04 since the compiler bug was fixed in later gcc
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 🤷♂️
-
br-m<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> 0xfffc had a workaround in the comments
-
selstawoodser: will be fixed in the next release monero-project/monero #10935
-
br-m<woodser> that's awesome
-
br-m<ofrnxmr> Nice
-
selstathis one was a bit unfair, had all the signs of a compiler bug but wasn't
