br-m<milas900:matrix.org> Question for devs is there heavy reliance on AI to code for monero or how monero devs are using the AI ?
-
br-m<jeffro256> me personally: no
-
br-m<torir:unredacted.org> @milas900:matrix.org: The devs are not reliant on AI to code. Very little code is AI-generated and contributers are required to fully understand they submit, AI or not. A few people are experimenting with using AI to review pull requests.
-
br-m<torir:unredacted.org> The overall attitude around here is somewhat against AI. A lot of us are tired about people claiming that fully vibed AI is acceptable to use for a security and privacy critical tool like Monero.
-
br-m<torir:unredacted.org> I can't speak authoritatively for everyone here, but that is the overall vibe I've gotten.
-
br-m<jpk68:matrix.org> IMO, another somewhat common take (which I happen to share) is that if the fix is correct, it doesn't really matter who or what authored the code.
-
br-m<jpk68:matrix.org> That being said, it mostly applies to small bugfixes or improvements. Fully vibed features being added, or using LLMs to blindly make design decisions, is something that would likely not be considered acceptable
