-
selsta
I don't know, I do know that Featherwallet added Qt6 support
-
selsta
once they publish the patch I can link it to you
-
selsta
it should work in similar way in monero
-
Guest6033
i did a recursive sed qt5 qt6
-
selsta
I don't think it's that simple
-
Guest6033

-
selsta

Guest6033

Guest6033
sorry just testing some4-5 hours only for finding how to install qt6 and now i stoped
-
Guest6033
at least i installed qt6....
-
tobtoht
selsta: Thanks for ping, I'll put it up tomorrow, heading out now. Guest6033: The patch won't apply directly to the GUI obviously, but it will give you some pointers on what needs to be changed. Besides CMake config, it will require some changes to the code since some Qt APIs got removed in Qt6, so a basic understanding of C++ will be required.

Guest603384
ok tobtoht
-
Guest603384
did u c any significant change on testing Featherwallet with qt6
-
tobtoht
There were some graphical glitches but I don't think those will apply to GUI since they seemed native to Qt widgets.
-
tobtoht
Performance was identical as far as I could tell
-
tobtoht
Binary size actually went up instead of down
-
tobtoht
However, the Qt6 build I used to test wasn't as optimized as our current Qt5 build so that might explain the difference
-
tobtoht
"some graphical glitches" -> misaligned items, blurry text, weird horizontal stripes, missing borders, those kinds of things
-
Guest603384
hmm so whats the point of using qt6(im asking myself)

fluffypony
-
fluffypony
the switch to CMake is pretty great fo rus
-
fluffypony
*for us
-
fluffypony
but it's still pretty fresh, I think we can afford to wait a while before switchign
-
fluffypony
-
fluffypony
this is a good read too
-
selsta
qt5 also supports cmake quite well, we don't use any qmake at this point
-
selsta
but yes, we will switch at some point
-
selsta
for the GUI the advantages are native graphics api which will help on system without proper opengl support
-
fluffypony
oh yeah that's nice
