<azurtem:matrix.org> Hi, with whom/where/how can I sort a funds transfer issue using Monero Wallet ?
-
moneromooo
You can start here. Assuming you mean monero-wallet-gui.
-
moneromooo
If so, what did you try, what did you expect to happen, and what happened ?

<azurtem:matrix.org> thanks for your response. I withdrew XMR funds on Monday from Kraken.com to reception address indicated in wallet :GUI version: 0.18.2.2-unknown (Qt 5.15.8)
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> but no funds appeared
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> I had initially updated the wallet software; badly apparently because it now downloads/synchronizes the blockchain everytime I open the wallet
-
moneromooo
in monerod, type "status", and post the line here.
-
moneromooo
I think you can run monerod commands from the GUI itself, not sure where. Try options/settings.

<azurtem:matrix.org> nevermind, I am wasting everyone's time with my lack of knowledge. thanks for trying to help

<azurtem:matrix.org> Hi,
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> I'm back, because I broke something and I'm hoping that someone can help me 'unbreak it'
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> I moved the bitmonero folder to another drive; after which the GUI couldn't find the wallet
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> I tried reverting to the previous situation but without success
-
moneromooo
Use --data-dir /path/to/new/chain/directory for monerod.
-
moneromooo
Wallets aren't there by default though.
-
moneromooo
IIRC they're in ~/Wallets or ~/Monero\ Wallets or suchlike.
-
moneromooo
(for monero-wallet-gui anyway)

<azurtem:matrix.org> Mine is on a Ledger Nano S
-
moneromooo
You'd still have a keys file with a "fake" key in, so it should not matter for file location.
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> I have rpc_ssl.crt and rpc_ssl.key files in the bitmonero directory
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> ok, I found a monero\wallets\xmr.keys file in 'My Documents'
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:monero.social> Ah. Using Windows
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> should have said so, sorry
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> Ok when I try to open wallet via keys file it says "Couldn't open wallet: No device found"
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> I imagine that it is referring to the nano S
-
moneromooo
Most probably.
-
m-relay
<azurtem:matrix.org> When attempting to create a new wallet using hardware device (nano S) with a restore from device it fails ; 'No device found'
-
moneromooo
Find nano S instructions, follow them. On the ledger site I assume.

If ledger live is open. Or ledger is not unlocked (with monero app open) it wont work. Or sometimes it randomly says nondevice found and you have to try again
