<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> Hello there. This element thing is a bit fiddly. Can anyone give me some instructions as to using the monero CLI?
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> Also, how do I switch between the two rooms I've joined?
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> I can't use the TUI wallet, because I don't have linux
-
m-relay
<jbabb:cypherstack.com> the Monero GUI is a great thing to try first
-
m-relay
<jbabb:cypherstack.com> otherwise you can use monero-wallet-cli if you download the latest monero release from an official source
-
m-relay
<jbabb:cypherstack.com> like getmonero.org or github.com/monero-project/monero (can anyone add anything?)
-
m-relay
<jbabb:cypherstack.com> the best thing to do is run a local node, also called a daemon. monero releases one called monerod
-
m-relay
<jbabb:cypherstack.com> you can run this on the commandline on any major OS basically and the GUI will for the most part automate that for you.
-
m-relay
<jbabb:cypherstack.com> you can also use remote nodes but ... please don't
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> The GUI is impossible for me to use because I am blind and I use a screen reader.
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> and in the element chat program, how do I switch between the two rooms that I've joined?
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> how do I join monero-dev?
-
vthor
the-whocrazy76: I will get tomorrow a matrix account and will contact you. So we can figure out the best route to use monero blind and then improve on it!

m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> Thank you vthorn.
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> Is it OK if I ask where abouts are you in the world? I'm just curious
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> This app is like discord, but discord has put a lot of energy into making their desktop app accessible
-
m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> Have you tried other matrix clients
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> zo

m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> I've tried schildi chat, but the interface is the same as this one
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> I tried n-heko, but when I enter my username the-whocrazy76, it tells me I have entered an invalid matrix ID
-
m-relay
<the-whocrazy76:matrix.org> btw, vthorn, I don't think the CLI interface needs changing at this point, it's just the GUI that has issues

m-relay
<plowsof:matrix.org> vthor is helping me compile / get the UR PR's working on my machine

m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> Is there an issue created for accessibility?
-
vthor
the-whocrazy76: at the moment I'm stuck in mexico, but normaly I'm (well in reality my familly and me) permanent traveling.
-
vthor
the-whocrazy76: cool that you are here present, I really dislike installing and reegistering for matrix, but I would do, or probably I still will do because I will need some time to figure out what is the best workflow and user experience for you. I can't promise that I get something done fast, but I'm pretty sure wie can improve progressivly if you can help me. I recently, finished work on the monero-gui and I thing a good starting point would probably

keyboard support and accessabilty labels, but I can also image that different layers could cause issues, but I need to investigate more and see how to set up a system with a screen reader and how to use it.
