<jeffro256:monero.social> Can I pass arbitrary arguments to `wallet2` from the GUI command line argument list ? Specifically I'm trying to run the GUI with `--allow-mismatched-daemon-version`

<jeffro256:monero.social> Looks like no, I will just add the code into it to set it

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> I'm fairly new to XMR, and running some tests with Monero GUI on Linux with Trezor. Does anyone in this thread have similar experience and willing to help answer some technical questions or direct me to the appropriate channel/ group for tech talk?

<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Sup?

<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> This is appropriate channel for monero-gui related discussions, particularly "tech talk". If it is more support related, then Monero Support . If just general, then Monero

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> I'm fairly new to Monero, but not to crypto in general. I've been testing wallet management with GUI + Trezor. Specifically, I created a GUI + Trezor wallet on Linux Mint desktop, and mined a trivial amount of XMR (like $0.96 worth) with P2P Pool and the built in mining feature in GUI. I tried to recover the same wallet on a separate Linux device, specifically a laptop.

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> I wanted to test wallet recovery to prove my understanding of the procedure and the functionality of the software + hardware combo. I've run into problems in the recovery process, and I suspect GUI wants to create a passphrase wallet when it tries to fetch the wallet address. This is odd bc I never set up a passphrase wallet on the device, only a standard, xy seed-word wallet. Whe<clipped message>

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> n I connect the Trezor to the Trezor desktop software, it confirms no passphrase wallet detected.

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> Each time I run through the wallet restoration process in GUI, it asks for a device passphrase, and there's no option to bypass this step. I tried closing the dialogue box, canceling that step, and GUI fails to connect to the Trezor and circles back to the device passphrase prompt.

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> If I continue through the set up steps, GUI succeeds in creating a passphrase wallet, but it has a different, primary account number and a zero balance. This would be normal behavior for a passphrase wallet on a Trezor bc it behaves like an entirely separate wallet. Users can set up multiple passphrase wallets on a single, Trezor device in the Trezor desktop application, but I never have.

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> I suspect the problem is related to the Trezor, but I haven't completely ruled out all other possible conflicts. I have tried fresh installations of the GUI software, wiping and recovering the hardware wallet. I made sure I had the correct block height. I tried multiple times with various tweaks, but the problem persisted. Same behavior in Feather Wallet.

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> Are there any known issues? Again, my project is not about recovering funds; rather I want to establish familiarity with the tools and prove to myself that everything is working as intended before relying more heavily on the infrastructure to work as expected.

<mc-on-mx:matrix.org> BTW - I'm going to open a Trezor support ticket as well.
