Can I ask a dumb sort of off-topic question? What does PoW look like if some of the users are located on Mars or the Moon? Do we just have multiple networks for each locality with swaps between them?

Or is it possible for something like the Monero Network to be sharded in a way that they all share the same blockchain.

Considering the latency between Earth/Mars or Moon, I would think that multiple networks make sense

Hyc had some musings awhile back about sharding the blockchains so as to achieve consensus with distant planets but I forget his finer points

Would it be possible for the main chain to have multiple valid chains though? Designed such that if you're mining the moon chain you can create valid uncle blocks at the same height as the main chain?

I imagine that there's probably some privacy implication of having a chain dedicated to the moon. If the population is low enough, you lose quite a bit of plausible deniability.

With current Monero though, I can transmit a transaction from Mars already though, right? Just have to wait about 45 minutes to know that it was included in a block.
