hycARM's new generation of chips drops 32bit support, yay!
-
hycIntel chips are still backward-compatible to 8bit 8085, if not original 8080
-
hycWould be nice to see AMD/Intel go pure 64bit now
-
QuickBASICWait, 8086 code can run on a modern Intel processor?
-
sech1Yes
-
hycI think it still does every time you boot up, don't they all boot up in 8086 mode?
-
sech1They definitely start in non-64 bit mode, but I'm not sure if it's 32 bit or the plain 8086. Maybe it's even some special system mode, I'm not sure with all these modern UEFI systems
