kicohey guys where can we get information on reorgs? how deep can they be and how many we get?
-
kicothanks in advance
-
kicofor a project that is considering merge mining
-
sech1Only see 1-2 block deep reorgs in the logs
-
sech1more than 3 blocks is extremely rare
-
kicoper day you mean?
-
kicothanks sech1
-
sech1no, since I started keeping logs :D
-
kicohahah fair enough
-
sech11 block deep reorgs happen every day
-
kicothis is no compiled anywhere right?
-
sech12 blocks, maybe once every few days
-
sech13 blocks happened 1 or 2 times in a few years
-
kicoI see
-
kicothanks a bunch sech1
-
moneromooooalt_chain_info in monerod will tell you what reorgs your node has seen.
-
niockico: ^^
-
kicoawesome thanks guys :)
-
sech1but only since the node has started
-
sech1
-
sech1this is on a node with 54 days uptime
-
selstai have seen a couple 2 block deep reorgs recently on some of my nodes
-
selstabut never 3 blocks
-
sech1I've checked my older logs and found only a single 3 blocks reorg
-
sech1in April 2021
-
selstahmm, alt_chain_info shows 1 block deep
-
selsta(ignore my comment about 2 block deep reorgs from above)
-
sech1yes, I also can find "alternative blockchain size: 2" in the log, but it shows up as 1 block deep in alt_chain_info
-
sech1which means then single "alternative blockchain size: 2" is acutally 2 blocks deep
-
sech1*alternative blockchain size: 3
-
selstayes
-
moneromooooIt's not supposed to wipe those when it starts. If you see a bug there, feel free to fix.
-
selstaI think it should wipe them without `--keep-alt-blocks`
-
moneromooooOh you're right, my monerod is running with that indeed :D
