paulio_uksad times. My 11 year old Toshiba Satellite has decided to retire itself. Must have had an uptime somewhere in the 500day range, just gave it a dist-upgrade after cleaning up all of the crap thats on there that never gets used. Gave it a reboot and black screen of death
-
paulio_ukmost likely memory or gpu, either way I've been looking for an excuse to get something smaller and more portable, so rather than fixing it, I'm going tech shopping :|
-
IngeNever so bad as not to be good for something, huh.
-
paulio_ukoh I mean the ssd is coming straight out :)
-
IngeSSD's have been pretty reliable for me.
-
IngeBut I did recently replace the SSD I've been using for docker and running nodes on - it was showing some errors
-
Ingeprobably the only one since the beginning of SSD time. Except got hit by a fw bug in a couple of Intel ones early on.
-
paulio_ukthe early ones I had a few issues with, but never had a hiccup with any the last 6 years or so
-
paulio_ukso its not a memory issue (found the old memory that was in it while digging in my draws) - so urm, well its past retirement age for a toshiba anyway :D
-
paulio_ukI'll leave it powered up and running to see if its just a capacitor or five that need to recharge properly
-
hycadding support for T-Head Vector extensions to gas sourceware.org/pipermail/binutils/2023-November/130475.html
