r4v3r23: IMHO, we need a statistician to investigate the pros and cons of binning. I know that a lot of computer scientists have been pushing for it. To me it seems that implementing binning would increase protection against certain threat models, but weaken it against others. One reason 16 ring members was chosen for the upcoming hard fork was that an even number would make two-member bins straightforward to implement if we

wanted to go that route.
