I dont know if my idea is feasible yet, I just want to put this out on here.

Reading through this I see no reason for a constant p2p connection between Alice and Bob

Alice can set t0 and t1 farther apart and allow for slower modes of communication (private chat channels, email, snail mail etc)

These modes offer an opsec advantage over p2p connection currently implemented in the protocol, and we dont have to invent new technology to make it work through tor and i2p

Bob has less pressure on him to send his moneroj on time and Alice has more time to check the transfer on chain.

This of course takes longer to finalize but this is not a major conscern

people do cash by mail all the time and this method works better because with cash by mail or any trusted setup there is a risk that fraudster can walk away with their money, this risk simply doesn't exist with atomic swap.

I think atomicswap is slow anyway so why not embrace it and use older and established technology for better opsec is the point I'm trying to make

MexicanTakeout96: Nothing you said is incorrect. It's also not new. Once a core protocol is established, then we get to discuss slight adjustments for use case.

I will say I agree atomic swaps have more purpose for OTC trades than live trades though ;)
