M7in[m]where can we find an FAQ link?

moneromooooTry getmonero.org, if there's one, it'll be there.

Rucknium[m]tonz0fphun: Hi. With machine learning, there have been two studies (that I am aware of) that try to use machine learning to probabalistically trace Monero transactions. There is the one by xmrack that you saw and Borggren, N., Kim, H.-Y., Yao, L., & Koplik, G. (2020). "Simulated blockchains for machine learning traceability and transaction values in the Monero network."

Rucknium[m]
-
Rucknium[m]Both of these studies take a supervised learning/"classification" approach
-
Rucknium[m]For now, the classification approach is probably ground already explored unless you have a radically different idea about how to do it.
-
Rucknium[m]I haven't seen a study that uses machine learning with a unsupervised learning/"clustering" approach.
-
tonz0fphun[m]Hm, I'm gonna read the paper. But also I suspect that there's an unsupervised approach, however my bet would be with labelled/annotated data if there's a pattern, it will get picked up or detected
-
tonz0fphun[m]Do you have a dataset or a mockup?
-
Rucknium[m]For the paper by ACK-J, he has the data available, yes. That's data based on "artificial" transactions on the Monero testnet
-
Rucknium[m]I don't think the artificial data for Borggren et al. (2020) is available
-
Rucknium[m]We have the real Monero blockchain data easily available in a SQL database curated by neptune
-
tonz0fphun[m]Yeah that's what I understood about ACK-J's PDF. I can try to reach out to the authors and see if they're willing to share any data. I'll go through the paper tonight and get back to you.
-
Rucknium[m]If you would like funding, there is the MAGIC Monero Fund (monerofund.org) or the Community Crowdfunding System (ccs.getmonero.org)
-
Rucknium[m]Ok thank you :)
