<bbmatrix:matrix.org> Hi, could someone give me a hint? How could I get the Secret Key from a transaction I did on Feather Wallet using my Keystone Hardwallet?
-
br-m
<bbmatrix:matrix.org> The feather wallet is view only and does not show the secret key right now
-
br-m
<bbmatrix:matrix.org> How is the tx secret key generated in general? Can I always reproduce it if I got my seed phrase?
-
DataHoarder
No
-
DataHoarder
tx key is generated locally then discarded, as it is not needed for normal workings
-
DataHoarder
Only the wallet that generated this transaction has it, and is usually discarded soon unless the wallet saves it
-
br-m
<bbmatrix:matrix.org> Thx for the reply, so a view only wallet connected to a hardware wallet wouldn't show this information? And I won't be able to regenerate the key again?
-
br-m
<rbrunner7> @bbmatrix:matrix.org: For all I know, correct. That transaction key is lost.
-
DataHoarder
This is a design feature, so it can't be found in the future by someone that got hold of your viewkey
-
DataHoarder
And try to guess who you sent coins to
-
DataHoarder
(Or spendkeys even)
-
br-m
<bbmatrix:matrix.org> So I did a trade on fixed float and it says trade expired, but the xmr was sent and arrived, of course. Now they insisting on secret key just to check the trade 🤕
-
DataHoarder
you may need to provide a SpendProof instead
getmonero.org/resources/user-guides/prove-payment.html (Prove transaction under advanced), instead of tx key
-
DataHoarder
this is research lounge so otherwise you probably want monero support channel
-

re: FCMP generators, I'm able to reproduce them all. tracked down a bug (feature) where specifically the SetBytes implementation ignored the topmost bit for the field element decoding, instead I have to feed it a 64 byte slice to have it handle it
-
DataHoarder
also pass all hash_to_point / hash_to_ec tests in monero repo which also is great
-
DataHoarder
> Consistent with RFC 7748, the most significant bit (the high bit of the last byte) is ignored

<bbmatrix:matrix.org> Thank you for your help. Where would I find the support channel? > <DataHoarder> this is research lounge so otherwise you probably want monero support channel

<sgp_> For those keeping score, this is the second time that "space-time" has been presented to the Monero community, with hilarious results. Some of the older Monero crowd will recall the first time 😅

ignoring most of that proposal, this part is gold "PoT is fully backward-compatible with existing RandomX mining software, requiring only minor updates to compute and submit deadlines from valid hashes."

<rbrunner7> Ok

I can provide a dump of all blocks gathered across the nodes I look into. They could directly scan them from blocks.p2pool.observer but I can also just give a dump of block headers
-
DataHoarder
Rucknium also has the ones from their node, but I also dumped those as well :)
