The merchants on germonero are getting out of hand. I'm spending way too much time dealing with that. It's a waste of resources. I'm considering removing the merchants page altogether and use an external project instead

So, maintaining the merchants page has started to take a considerable option of my CCS. Does that really worth it or we should consider removing the merchants page? i opened an issue to discuss this: monero-project/monero-site #1736

I don't think that would save much time and will probably end up with being more time consuming. Most of the time the description merchants provide for themselves are too long or need to be changed. The wole thing is stime consuming:

investigate merchants when they want to be added and remove, deal with merchants that go crazy because the want o be listed immediately and start to comment everywhere and open new issues,

deal with merchants pissed because they are being delisted, etc etc

i was always a fan of the merchants page (even if it looks horrible), but i'm not sure it still worth it to be honest

last week i spent a lot of time dealing with removal requests and some of those didn't make any sense, but still needed to be investigated

well, not the obviously pointless ones like the request of removing Bisq

but they still need an answer before closing them, so a bit of time is spent anyway

ErCiccione: site updated, cloudflare flushed, but not the CDN. They have an unusual weird thing upon login with 2FA (basically asking to set it up again) that does not make me confortable. So I'll have to get in touch with them and see what's up, because it's not proper security practices and I don't want to risk anything

It will probably take few days. I don't know the exact effect of CDN not being explicitly flushed, hopefully not noticeable, worst case some inconsistencies

yeah that's what i had in mind as well. I know the cryptwerk folks are quite active, don't know if there is anything else like that. We could also leave a small sectionof the merchants page with only decentralized exchanges to encourage people to use those
