as bF asc would land at dlsrc.getmonero.org/monero-v0.18.4.3/binaryfate.asc afaik if I remember

or node.monerodevs.org/monero-v0.18.4.3/binaryfate.asc which forwards it to root domain

but hashes / .asc don't redirect well (you can probably redirect to github files or archive areas lol)

works for magnets as well, which allows dual seeding

it's an alternate method to get pieces, specially when old archival torrents might not have good seeds

So more availability and no security downside (I guess besides pinging a particular URL if you care about your anonymity and don't trust the host). sounds cool
