jacobkI've read the instructions (film putting the money in the envelope, make markings, etc.), but I also wanted to ask somewhere else in case LocalMonero is making the process sound safer than it is.

alMalsamoIs there a CryptoNote coin not coded in C++?
-
apotheonalMalsamo: probably (though I don't know if they measure up)
-
hyc"A cryptonote coin" generally means a fork of the original Bytecoin source code, written in C++
-
hycI haven't seen anyone reimplement the entire protocol and associated pieces in any other language yet
-
hycOne of my daydreams is to reimplement the entire thing in C, using ASN.1 for the protocol messages, handled by OpenLDAP's liblber. It would be an order of magnitude more efficient than json crap
-
louipxhows that comparable to protobuf
-
hycprobably close. liblber can do zero-copy message parsing
-
hycand it's solid code, been in use for 20+ years
-
hycI haven't tested them head to head but I'd expect liblber to be at least 10-20% more eficient than protobuf
-
louipxsounds good
-
fluffyponythere's a Java implementation
-
fluffyponyit's very old and very dead
-
fluffyponyBuddhacoin and Paladincoin were "released" during the scam wars as evidence of Bytecoin's history, didn't help them one bit
