hi
-
Guest6
in one day how many moneros are produced
-
moneromoooo
Approximately 432 I think.
-
Guest6
0.6 X 30MIN X 24HOURS ??
-
nioc
yes
-
moneromoooo
Your units are wrong, but the numbers match :)
-
nioc
0.6 xmr x 720 blocks/day
-
Mochi101
for eternity
-
Mochi101
and beyond
-
Guest6
yes 432 = 54821 euro
-
Guest6
until now there are 21million produced
-
Guest6
right?
-
Mochi101
I believe there are less.
-
Mochi101
around 18 million
-
Mochi101
CMC says 18,201,032.97 XMR
-
Mochi101
Not sure if this updates though.
-
nioc
sounds right
-
Guest6
when this unchangeable block reward of 0.6 start how many moneros were produced ?
-
Guest6
17million 16 ?
-
Guest6
what inflation monero has and is this possible to change
-
nioc
the emission schedule has not changed since it was launched and will not change
-
Guest6
how much is
-
Guest6
2,3
-
nioc
current inflation rate?
-
Guest6
yes
-
nioc
easy enough to calculate
-
Guest6
and before 18million produced
-
nioc
there are charts somewhere but I don't remember where
-
moneromoooo
432 * 100 / 18.4e6 * 365
-
moneromoooo
~ 0.85%
-
moneromoooo
(yearly)
-
Guest6
before 18millions?
-
moneromoooo
This question is unintelligible. Rephrase.
-
Guest6
before changing block reward
-
moneromoooo
If you're asking how much the inflation rate was prior to the emission being floored, it was... smoothly decreasing, from a starting point of zomgsohigh%.
-
moneromoooo
and it will continue to go down smoothly, slowly.
-
Guest6
you mean that this 0.6 will go down slowly
-
moneromoooo
No. The 0.6 / supply ratio will.
-
Guest6
less than 432 moneros daily?
-
Guest6
what 100 represent here 432 * 100 / 18.4e6 * 365
-
Mochi101
.calc zomgsohigh+12.5
-
Wallet
Mochi101: ERROR: Unrecognized variable: 'zomgsohigh'
-
moneromoooo
It is a conversion factor from a ratio to a percentage.
-
Mochi101
Are you good at math moneromoooo?
-
Mochi101
Probability calculation to be exact...
-
moneromoooo
Good enough to know how to convert a ratio to a percentage :P
-
Mochi101
I need to find an expert in probability...
-
Guest6
Thank you
-
moneromoooo
You can probably find about one if you're lucky.
-
Mochi101
Probably hey.
-
Guest6
inflation is < 1%
-
moneromoooo
(I am definitely not one fwiw)
-
Guest6
All Central Banks says that ideal inflation is around 2%
-
Mochi101
Oh jeese, I thought you were making a joke moneromoooo.
-
moneromoooo
I was :(
-
Mochi101
ok good!
-
Mochi101
:D
-
moneromoooo
Probably.
-
sech1
-
as2333
Guest6 and you beleve what central banks say?
-
Guest6
no of course
-
Mochi101
as2333, do you?
-
as2333
I don't. At any rate, inflation of government money is different from inflation in a proof work system. Inflation of governmetn money is just outright counterfeiting.
-
Guest6
exactly
-
Guest6
one word "counterfeiting"
-
Guest6
official counterfeiting.........
-
Rucknium[m]
The rate of change of the money supply is not the same thing as inflation. Inflation is a rise in the general price level of an economy. Monero's tail emission cannot really be compared to central banks' target inflation rate for many reasons.
-
moneromoooo
Inflation's super high. I wanted to buy something at about .95 monero a couple weeks back, it now costs about 1.12 monero :/
-
Mochi101
jfc
-
moneromoooo
So I'm wondering whether to wait and hope for prices to go down again.
-
Mochi101
moneromoooo, I'll give you .95 Monero for your 1.12 Monero to counter inflation. Just tell me how much you want to process.
-
moneromoooo
Hmmm. Interesting. But not quite interesting enough. How about... those .95 for 0.85 instead of 1.12 ?
-
Mochi101
I'm trying to absorb the inflations, so my bags should get bigger from this... That's how inflation worls my friend.
-
Mochi101
inflate my bags
-
moneromoooo
Take a hamster course ? They'll teach you to inflate your bags.
-
Mochi101
interesting
-
great_taste
inflation always goes up, so betting against it is a sound investment
-
as2333
'creation' of government money is inflation by definiont. The term is also used to refer to the increase in prices that follow
-
moneromoooo
But will inflation stop at some point ? It all depends on the curvature of the economy.
-
moneromoooo
If not, there'll be a big credit crunch.
-
great_taste
no, they always need to print more money to pay the bills xD
-
Mochi101
Flat Economy Theory
-
nioc
another example of inflation, mooo is now moooo
-
moneromoooo
I did notice that a while ago. I'm not sure how that ended up being.
-
moneromoooo
Maybe I'm an impostor.
-
moneromoooo
IIRC the old mooo identified as fluffypony.
-
nioc
this is what I see... <moneromoooo> moneromooo
-
Mochi101
Modern Moo Policy
-
nioc
so the original is still there, somehow you changed your neck
-
nioc
*nick
-
Mochi101
Better a short neck than a short
-
Mochi101
nvm
-
moneromoooo
Longer makes it easier to browse.
-
Mochi101
Should have been a giraffe.
-
moneromoooo
I am not *that* Lamarckian.
-
fluffypony
lol
-
rbrunner
-
NorrinRadd
it still exists?
-
moneromoooo
Bitmex or Bitcoin sv ?
-
NorrinRadd
bsv
-
NorrinRadd
i'm shocked when i see anyone discussing bsv or bch
-
moneromoooo
I'm shocked Craigh Wright is still not in jail (is he not ?)
-
NorrinRadd
maybe they can get him on purjury?
-
as2333
yep the fact that wright hasn't been jailed a long time ago should give a clue about the nature of the US 'justice' system.
-
nioc
I thought the court cases were in England
-
nioc
could easily be wrong :)
-
moneromoooo
while (money--) sleep(1); jail();
-
NorrinRadd
the latest 2 or 3 were definitely europe
-
as2333
wrights quarrell with that other clown kleiman is in the US. The english courts said wright has the copyright to bitcoin's white paper or something like that
-
as2333
he also lost a 'defamation' case in england
-
great_taste
gotta respect the guy's motivation
-
great_taste
I wish I could have the motivation of a psycho
-
as2333
I wonder if he's literally insane, not realizing he's playing with fire, or else he's a master at playing the wholly corrupt system.
-
great_taste
all of the above
-
as2333
heh

How do I check if the machine is mining or not / how do I start mining? This is the output from monerod
paste.debian.net/plainh/b128e11f
-
selsta
yang2: are you mining manually or did you enable background mining?
-
moneromoooo
"mining_status" should tell you. Or "status".
-
moneromoooo
I think it also logs in monerod when it starts.
-
yang2
Error: Unknown command 'mining_status', try 'help'
-
yang2
selsta: I only started "monerod", whcih seems to be synced now, and then I started manually "monero-wallet-cli"
-
selsta
seems it tried to start background mining but it failed to figure out if you are on battery so it didn't start
-
yang2
aha, no I am not on battery
-
yang2
so how do I disable that
-
moneromoooo
Try --help, there's an option to ignore the battery check.
-
moneromoooo
Though if mining_status is not in your veriosn, you might have other problems.
-
yang2
start_mining [<number_of_threads>] [bg_mining] [ignore_battery] ---> start_mining 2 bg_mining ignore_battery
-
yang2
so I type that?
-
selsta
you can start monerod with --bg-mining-ignore-battery and then it should work correctly
-
selsta
or add it to your monerod config `bg-mining-ignore-battery=1`
-
yang2
ok
-
yang2
-
yang2
ok it seems to work now, according to "top" it uses 100% CPU on 2 cores
-
yang2
what is the difference between "start_mining" and "start_mining_for_rpc" ?
-
moneromoooo
start_mining mines to the address you give.
-
moneromoooo
start_mining_for_rpc starts mining to the address of the daemon you're connected to if that daemon requires micropayments for RPC service.
-
yang2
moneromoooo: weird that ther eis no command for "mining_status"
-
Mochi101
yang2, what do you want to see?
-
yang2
Mochi101: some kind of a progress bar / progress info about mining...
-
Mochi101
CLI needs a mining progress bar. :D
-
yang2
or some kind of statistics?
-
yang2
moneromoooo: what information is supposed to be in "mining_status" ?
-
selsta
your hashrate
-
yang2
so why doesn't the official version have this feature?
-
selsta
because the miner inside monerod isn't meant for professional mining
-
selsta
the GUI has some statistics, and using something like xmrig (dedicated mining softtware) will give you even more statistics
-
selsta
also finding a block will take you like a year or so on average with a regular computer, adding a progress bar for a year is nonsense
-
yang2
ah ok
-
Mochi101
selsta, 363 days left (with 100% luck)
-
yang2
thank you for clarifying
