sech1: Hi, may I PM you? I need help with a churning matter, but I don't want to ask my question in the channel, due to logging.
-
sech1
I'm not a churning specialist

I'm so tired that my stomach is churning. I think I will go to bed.
-
Mochi101
I have a lot of work to churn out tomorrow, so I need to get a decent night of sleep.
-
Mochi101
Don't forget to churn off the lights.

j/k on the last one.

erembax[m]
Is there a monero equivalent to bitnodes.io ?
-
erembax[m]
<spackle_xmr[m]> "monero.fail/map is the closest I..." <- Awesome thanks
-
Jabster28[m]
does monero have countermeasures against replay attacks on signed transactions? i was brainstorming ideas for a monero contactless card, and was wondering if sending a signed transaction from the card to a POS system would be safe against a malicious system sending the transaction multiple times.
-
rbrunner
I would say the general in-built double-spend protection will suffice perfectly here.
-
rbrunner
And Monero has no RBF, "replace by fee". Once submitted, even if not yet mined, it's pretty hard to somehow "dislodge" a transaction.
-
Jabster28[m]
<rbrunner> "I would say the general in-built..." <- oh cool, thanks
-
Jabster28[m]
do the transactions have a nonce or something that prevents this?
-
rbrunner
It's called "key image". You can read about them e.g. here:

-
erembax[m]
was there a recent debate somewhere between with a bitcoiner regarding randomx and asic resistance?
-
rbrunner
erembax[m]: Not that I know of.
-
Jabster28[m]
<erembax[m]> "was there a recent debate..." <- on the discord server yeah
-
Jabster28[m]
> Monero is ‘vulnerable’ to asics. Xmr is like ‘round the table we go’, try to keep modifying the algorithm which takes ‘human effort’ and ‘trust’. They can’t even put up a road sign saying ‘completely stop’ to asics, and make monero and asic to sit on the chair and face Monero’s demon(s). instead all xmr can do is put up a card board sign that decays rapidly under rain. Monero is constantly being chased round the

table by it’s demons (asic). Xmr tried conquering a land of asics but truely failed and has given up with its last attempt to resist with the algorithm randomx. Soon the demons will come to devour monero as it always had set to do on the table.

it's the monero discord server, but you need to be in a server to view its messages

he spams a lot of nonsense, I blocked him alread on discord

Jabster28[m]
does anyone know the exact makeup of a monero transaction? i'm trying to write some code for a signer on an embedded system, so i can't use the monero crate (it depends on std)
-
Rucknium[m]
Jabster28: Zero to Monero 2.0 has the tx structure in its appendix. At least one change has occurred since ZtM was written: the addition of view tags.
-
Mochi101
Which are awesome.

Jabster28[m]
<Rucknium[m]> "Jabster28: Zero to Monero 2.0..." <- oh ztm looks like exactly what i was looking for, thanks! sorry for all the questions lol

wormrobot
does public_nodes outputs all the nodes on the network currently?
-
wormrobot
and btw i love this output "Most of these nodes are probably spies. You should not use them unless connecting via Tor or I2P"
