ZHOSKA[xmpp]: Does Monero-GUI have any functionality for working with TOR and I2p nodes? You just need to specify a proxy for them to work. I turned on the Monero-GUI and the wallet started syncing. It seemed strange to me. I look in the settings and the proxy is not enabled. There is 1 node in the remote nodes, but judging by the traffic (I checked later), the connection went to another node. It feels like montero has memorized the old

settings and started using them. It is also interesting that the traffic actually went through this connection.

Come again?
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: 1 remout node is not from clearnet
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: Oh, I found the problem. I had a tunnel to a remote node on port 127.0.0.1:18089 (I'm using a different connection configuration now) and when launching Monero-GUI, the connection settings were reset once again, but for some reason the application decided to connect to this socket itself.....
-
ofrnxmr[m]
Explain where this tunnel is configured
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: I2p
-
ofrnxmr[m]
I still have no idea what youre referring to

"I found the problem"

Where

"For some strange reason it decided to connect to this socket by itself"
-
ofrnxmr[m]
127.0.0.1:18089 implies youre running a local node.
-
ofrnxmr[m]
You probably selected local node instead of remote node.. then realized and selected the remote node
-
waweb
hello
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: Yeah, of course I chose a local node, and the traffic over i2p in megabytes then from where? I have never synced the blockchain on this device
-
ofrnxmr[m]
There is no preset for 18089
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: I launched the blockchain locally. It creates sockets on 18080 18081 18082 ports (as usual). But as I understand it, there is a preset for 18089 (it is also one of the standard ones), so it connects to a remote node confusing it with a local one... what u think? In your opinion, could this have happened?
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: I didn't download it*

FriendlyResidentCynic[xmpp]: hello back
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: what you think about this now?
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: i2p*
-
ofrnxmr[m]
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: However, when I changed the i2p tunnel to 18099, the connection did not happen. It wrote that I was disconnected from the network. Then I returned the tunnel to port 18089 again and the connection began to appear again when the application was launched
-
ofrnxmr[m]
Are you starting monerod directly? What config or flags are you using
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: I just click on the gui icon
-
ofrnxmr[m]
With nothing entered into the "startup flags" field on the node settings page?
-
ofrnxmr[m]
Im totally confused what youre even trying to do?

s/</[/, s/>/]/
-
dANBs[m]
ZHOSKA[xmpp]: I know how to do it all. I came here to tell you that if the "remote node" setting is selected, but the socket 127.0.0.1:18089 is open, then Monero-GUI connects to it by default, although it was not asked about it
-
ofrnxmr[m]
-
ofrnxmr[m]
- Monero gui using `local node` mode = 127.0.0.1:18081 by default
-
ofrnxmr[m]
- Monero gui using `remote node` = whatever node you added
-
ofrnxmr[m]
- monerod without startup flags = 18089 binding doesnt exist
