<aleenor:matrix.org> dumb question, why is monero not supported on bitrefill?

<wolffbolt:matrix.org> Howdy, pals, doing well?
-
m-relay
<wolffbolt:matrix.org> Please what's your opinion about mymonero wallet for Android devices?
-
m-relay
<unkn8wn69:matrix.org> Use a fully non custodial wallet. My monero has your private view key
-
m-relay
<unkn8wn69:matrix.org> Monerujo, Mysu or Cakewallet for android
-
m-relay
<unkn8wn69:matrix.org> Or stackwallet
-
m-relay
<aleenor:matrix.org> to clarify, this does not make mymonero custodial - they can never spend funds with the view key
-
m-relay
<unkn8wn69:matrix.org> Oh yes, wrong term
-
m-relay
<unkn8wn69:matrix.org> Use a fully private wallet. My monero has your private view key

<biznotch:matrix.org> Hello. Looking for a CN / Monero dev with extensive C++ experience , for a project / temp job for $XHV Haven Protocol, Monero fork. Could anyone point me in to the direction, where this post could find the right eyes?

warma90
Even using a vpn, 0 in connections, is it normal (node synced) ?
-
plowsof
0 IN or 0 OUT?
-
warma90
in
-
warma90
try on 2 vpn and without
-
warma90
same
-
m-relay
<baz:monero.social> if your advertised port isn't reachable you won't have in connections.
-
warma90
It's worked 1 hour ago
-
m-relay
<baz:monero.social> weird
-
warma90
can you check for you node ?
-
plowsof
you could for example go to the nodes ip:port/get_info in your browser and see an output
-
warma90
"incoming_connections_count": 0,
-
warma90
plowsof thanks
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> If you check from browser using the restricted rpc port it is always zero
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> Best way is to run monerod status
-
warma90
monerod status give that
-
warma90
I see tx pool size is growing
-
warma90
are you sure there is no problem at all ?
-
warma90
no it's ok now
-
warma90
seems to be a graphical bug because I'm synced but it will be impossible with 0 in
-
warma90
french ?
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> Not sure this is true. It might be able to sync with out connection only. I cannot guarantee, but it might ask for blocks using outbound connections only
-
warma90
if there is no incoming connection, how download blockchain ?
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> It might use the outbound connection only. Being this a P2P protocol. I cannot guarantee this is correct, but it sounds possible to me
-
warma90
you mean out or in connection is just the way the connection is established ?
-
m-relay
<123bob123:matrix.org> syncs with IN
-
warma90
8) seems weird but it's working
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> Cannot ask for Data using the outbound connections? Being tcp dual direction?
-
warma90
If I'm logic, it's printed 0 in connections but it's syncing, so IN or OUT should mean how the connections was made, so connection was initiate by my node or an other node because if there is no incoming connection, it's impossible to receive data and the node can't continue syncing
-
warma90
if not, it's graphical bug
-
warma90
and when a connection is ok, it's dual direction
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> Yes. I think that the way it works.
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> Do you want to solve the inbound issue? Should be easy
-
warma90
reboot ?
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> Lol
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> Have you checked the firewall? Have you got the issue in local network or Internet only?
-
warma90
vpn is ok, I use it many times
-
warma90
mulvad
-
warma90
they accept monero it's cool
-
warma90
was the same on proton vpn
-
warma90
and clearnet
-
warma90
more interesting, out connection stay on 12
-
warma90
seems a graphical bug or something like that
-
warma90
I will test something, stop monerod and wait a moment to see what will happen
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> What you mean by graphical bug? You run monerod status, that is what you do right?
-
warma90
yes
-
warma90
It's a graphical bug if normally in connection is necessary to sync
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> If you are behind a vpn you need to see if port forwarding is possible.
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> It looks like with mullvad it is
-
m-relay
-
warma90
if it's what we said before, in and out connections means just who initiate the connection meaning there is no bug at all and just I misunderstood
-
warma90
thanks I will check
-
warma90
is port forwarding needed when we use vpn ?
-
warma90
At the moment the tunnel is done to the vpn, is it not ok ?
-
m-relay
<123bob123:matrix.org> pretty sure they removed it on mullvad and also ivpn
-
m-relay
<edge7:matrix.org> True. Just checked. So I think running a full node without that is not possible. The dude cannot have inbound connection
