Hunter and gatherer populations have always been the freeest people in the world. Nobody gave a fuck about borders, nobody gave a fuck about somebody above them telling them what to do, they just hunt, and go on with their days.

Those people (specifically between Neanderthals and pre-agricultural devolution) also happened to have bigger brains, higher IQ, bigger strength, longer lifespans, and no sicknesses like cancer and diabeters.
