<syntheticbird:monero.social> there was another one?

m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> articmine, but he doesnt touch the $ or repos
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> but articmine is core
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Yea, but not involved with logistics
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> binary is generalfund + bounties, and luigi is ccs
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> is luigi not also managing h1?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I dont know who manages h1 funds. Prob luigi and bf
-
m-relay
<preland:monero.social> If they don’t make a report, it’s fine, we can make one ourselves
-
m-relay
<preland:monero.social> Though we don’t have all the information to do that, so to be safe we will have to assume the worst in cases that we don’t know anything.
-
m-relay
<321bob321:monero.social> I can use m$paint to make one
-
m-relay
<17e:matrix.org> Hello. Has anyone experience storing the blockchain on an external drive? I have a nvme ssd and a usb case for that. Would that work or is such a controller not suitable for working 24/7?
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> depends on the quality. iirc USB have signal error correction but it should be fine. You'll likely be bandwith bottlenecked but it's always going to better than say a USB stick or an HDD.
-
BlueyHealer
Just how much bandwidth is required so that a USB SSD would be a bottleneck?? Seems like those things are fast enough for anything...
-
m-relay
<syntheticbird:monero.social> the bandwith limit of the USB cable/controller you are using
-
m-relay
<dooropener:monero.social> monerod will have big delay to start on slow media, but it will run, it's not a problem

So you can't buy anything non-KYC'd now...?
-
fmlatghor
unless it's some sketchy website?
-

western freedom - enjoy
-
fmlatghor
but is this true?
-
hv-bridge
<wearethelifersyetagain> changenow to ltc localcoinswap to bank or paypal
-
fmlatghor
there used to be localmonero, but that's shutting down
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> vik (Cake) we were just talking about you in community
-
Cindy
doesn't haveno exist?
-
Cindy
oh wait, you have to already have some XMR to use it
-
Cindy
small amount of XMR
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Not anymore
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> You can buy on haveno with no deposit
-
Cindy
seriously?
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Yes
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Max 1xmr with no deposit tho
-
Cindy
i always wondered how haveno handled arbitration
-
fmlatghor
wearethelifersyetagain: changenow is kyc
-
hv-bridge
<wearethelifersyetagain> changenow integration in mymonero, they can do nothing about that
-
fmlatghor
what do you mean? Why would that be different?
-
moneromooo
Is the 1 monero limit enough for the deposit for a subsequent larger purchase ?
-
BlueyHealer
Maybe, if Haveno doesn't have offers, you could buy BTC on Bisq and then swap?
-
Cindy
also let's not consider the fact that you won't be able to buy any monero KYC or not KYC
-
Cindy
let's consider*
-
Cindy
snce governments are putting pressure on exchanges
-
BlueyHealer
swappers exist, at the very least
-
m-relay
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> @moneromooo the deposit for larger offers is 15%
-
Cindy
including the EU
-
Cindy
centralized exchanges that offer monero could dwindle
-
BlueyHealer
they're about as easy to shut down as DNMs if there's this much pressure lol
-
fmlatghor
it looks like through localcoinswap though, you can buy XMR through mailing cash
-
Cindy
kraken already delisted monero for EU users, which was a bit of a problem when using their public API
-
hv-bridge
<wearethelifersyetagain> works as expected, put an ltc addy there and boom itll show up there
-
hv-bridge
-
hv-bridge
<wearethelifersyetagain> oh wait, you guys are on irc-
-
hv-bridge
<wearethelifersyetagain> good luck viewing image lol
-
fmlatghor
no it works
-
fmlatghor
discord images show up as links
-
fmlatghor
but I don't understand how that would be any different
-
fmlatghor
you're buying through a KYC exchange
-
Cindy
i exchange stuff with haveno anyway
-
fmlatghor
just with an intergration
-
BlueyHealer
I wonder if Haveno would have big-volume sellers working with businesses specifically.
-
m-relay
<hill-zilla:matrix.org> Hi guys
-
fmlatghor
How do I find third party networks to use with Haveno? Says that I can also "create my own mainnet network", but the link for that is dead and I don't really understand how to do that. IT says it's ready for mainet, but I still don't understand how to use this software.
-
fmlatghor
I doubt I have the rosurces to be running a haveno network
-
fmlatghor
Cindy: how do you use haveno yourself?
-
plowsof
there is a #haveno room also
-
nioc
there is a network called retoswap
-
nioc
and yes #haveno
-
fmlatghor
nioc: there's not enough people on it to buy through fiat for me
-
fmlatghor
which means I'd have to go through another crypto, which would mean KYC
-
fmlatghor
the only network seems to be retoswap
-
nioc
you can put your own offer there abd see what happens
-
nioc
yes it's the one
-
nioc
*and see
-
fmlatghor
I wonder what resoucres I'd need to run a network for this
-
nioc
the resources that are important is people trading :)
-
fmlatghor
like I don't think a home basement server would work for this
-
fmlatghor
don't know why they picked java of all languages too
-
fmlatghor
I don't know... could it work?
-
fmlatghor
oh I understand what you meant now, nioc
-
fmlatghor
without anyone to trade xmr for fiat with me, there's really no use of the network
-
fmlatghor
wasn't comprehending that for some reason
-
BlueyHealer
fmlatghor: which means I'd have to go through another crypto, which would mean KYC <- You could at the very least try Bisq, if it turns out Haveno has no suitable offers.
