m-relay<basses:matrix.org> Any Gentoo Monero users know what happened to github.com/gentoo-monero/gentoo-monero and what is the alternative for Gentoo users? You can shared here monero-project/monero #9810#issuecomment-2691468500

m-relay<basses:matrix.org> share info here*
-
m-relay<paintchip:matrix.org> I didn't even know we had an overlay. Other than just downloading from source and building it yourself there are generic Linux binaries available on the getmonero site.
-
m-relay<paintchip:matrix.org> If you actually still have the ebuild from the overlay on your machine, you can add it to your own local repo and still use it too. That would be easier than making a new ebuild from scratch.

m-relay<basses:matrix.org> >Amnesty International’s Security Lab has a post about 3 vulnerabilities exploited by Cellebrite to extract data from locked Android devices. GrapheneOS blocked exploiting these vulnerabilities in multiple different ways. We also patched them much earlier.

-
m-relay<basses:matrix.org> I highly recommend Monero users to switch to GrapheneOS grapheneos.org especially researchers and developers working on Monero stay safe :)
-
m-relay<basses:matrix.org> Oh and they accept Monero btw grapheneos.org/donate#monero ;)
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Patch them much earlier muh lol
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> We talk about the classic class of vulnerability that lay in the code in plain sight for over 10 years as usual.
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Only reason graphene survived that is that is apparently disable usb data pins (only possible on pixel phones) and only grapheneos support that feature
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> These usb UVC flaws are there since kernel 2.6.26
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> They also affect servers and desktop (if uvc kernel module is enabled)
-
m-relay<ravfx:xmr.mx> Upgrade to >6.3 if not done yet

jason87xQuestion, does xmrig have their own irc or discord? I'm compiling xmrig from source and finding that install and make steps do not work or appear to be present in the code.
-
jason87xtest*, not make
-
jason87xI did also now send an email to support at xmrig.com
-
m-relay<basses:matrix.org> sech1
-
sech1
-
jason87xI went there, it doesn't quite answer my questions.
-
sech1" install and make steps do not work " do not work how?
-
jason87xWARNING: No target to "ninja test".
-
jason87xninja: error: unknown target 'install'
-
jason87xI meant test not make, and then also install. These two lines are their respective errors.
-
sech1What OS? I don't remember anything about XMRig using ninja. It uses CMake
-
jason87xattempting to package (unofficially) for void, they use build scripts etc for things like cmake
-
jason87xninja appears to be a command used in the cmake ecosystem
