how often does the wallet-cli update with the daemon? It just says out of sync, but the daemon is synced

<mrpump:matrix.org> Hi I wanted to help out decentralization with my own laptop, apparently I can get much better hashrate with dedicated software like xmrrig? Rn I'm just solo mining with monero wallet cli
-
br-m
<hooftly:matrix.org> @mrpump:matrix.org: Xmrig is optimized for sure. You just need to point it at your daemon with the --daemon flag if I remember correctly
-
br-m
<mrpump:matrix.org> @hooftly:matrix.org: rn my speed is 2k, i'd prefer not to install yet another software and also starting mining from monero cli wallet is practical.

<mrpump:matrix.org> However if the gain is noticeable by using xmrig I'll use it
-
br-m
<mrpump:matrix.org> Do you know the % gains by using xmrig vs through monero cli wallet ?

I'm talking about the RPC connection on port 1808[1-2] between the wallet and daemon, I have to close the monero-wallet-cli and reload it, it always says out of sync and never updates the current block amount even though daemon says 100%

I wonder if there is at least hope for them to avoid the trauma of touching an actual prison.
-

<sbt:nope.chat> BlueyHealer: They still would have been fine if it weren't for NK. Whatever they touch gets cursed. Tornado cash faced same fate but the network is still functional

<sbt:nope.chat> Monero devs are at extremely high risk and it wouldn't be distant future if someone gets picked up. Very essential for them to maintain anonymity
-
BlueyHealer
Yeah, very much. Such things are always a possibility.
-
BlueyHealer
I am more interested in the chances of avoiding trauma like this, for whatever cost. Because this terrifies me due to not being curable.
-
br-m
<sbt:nope.chat> BlueyHealer: There's nothing you can do tbh. Let's hope they don't throw them in a nonviolent prison.
-

<sbt:nope.chat> Violent*
-
BlueyHealer
But a nonviolent one is more than enough for a PTSD in a gentle person, and that is a horrifying part... So was wondering if maybe home arrest or something was possible. Something that does not cause an uncurable illness (at least hopefully uncurable *for now*).

br-m
<hooftly:matrix.org> @sbt:nope.chat: One could argue that this is actually more dangerous. When you are a public person working on a high profile project its much easier to make you dissapear when you are anon just saying. Either way its tough and anyone working on Monero or in the ecosystem deserves a thanks. We are on the precipice of a time where Monero will be needed most.
-
BlueyHealer
But your family and friends will know you disappeared and then take the same actions?..
-
BlueyHealer
And yes. Hats off to the people working on projects like this.
-
br-m
<hooftly:matrix.org> Its also easy to make whoever you need to be gone in that situation if needed. Ideally I want to believe that it wouldnt happen or get there but its a possible scenario. Gotta run all the scenarios at all times haha
-
BlueyHealer
Yeah, I just know I'd be unable to exist under a risk at all lol

<hooftly:matrix.org> I can understand that.
