You can verify proofs directly btw in code as long as you have the transaction data

It is what I do on my blocks explorer

On mine if you are on a transaction you can pass txkey+addr, or viewkey+addr, or proof+addr and it'll verify it against the tx

Though proofs are currently disconnected from showing the outputs (I need to pipe this around Carrot now)

fixed it by using monerod downloaded from the site

From what I understand, it stores profile pics and chat media all the same. So you could purge all big media older than X, but not "all chat media".
