<lza_menace> not sure if anyone had seen but the creator of the exploremonero.com explorer (now defunct) has open sourced the code:
github.com/GBKS/exploremonero
-
br-m
<lza_menace> i've got a fork with some cleanup items and i plan to run it on explorer dot monero dot fail once i get things functional
-
br-m
<lza_menace> send receipts, tx verification, and search are broken
-
br-m
<lza_menace> it broke a long time ago because it depended on xmrchain API which was shut down due to abuse
-
br-m
<lza_menace> the developer rewrote it to use public node rpc endpoints but is not fully operational
-
plowsof
"Thanks to AI for helping some of the migration (and then it made a big mess, and I had to manually step in, but still)." 🥲
-
br-m
<lza_menace> yeah, seen some remnants of slop code. learning vue js still
-
DataHoarder
Yeah tx profs being broken is what made me remove it
-
DataHoarder
You can verify proofs directly btw in code as long as you have the transaction data
-
DataHoarder
It is what I do on my blocks explorer
-
DataHoarder
On mine if you are on a transaction you can pass txkey+addr, or viewkey+addr, or proof+addr and it'll verify it against the tx
-
DataHoarder
Though proofs are currently disconnected from showing the outputs (I need to pipe this around Carrot now)
-
DataHoarder
I'll take a look at that repo. Looks interesting
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> yo, has any one gotten the message on haveno reto to update immediately? i dont see any update on their website or github
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> also does anyone know moneros.exchange ?
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> -> #havenodex:matrix.org
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> thanks
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> wrong room link ehhh
-
br-m
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> @yomom1337:matrix.org: like i dont see any reddit posts about it, but site looks interesting
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> where did you find it?
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> AI
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> i asked for haveno alternatives, which require no kyc
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> because haveno is kinda ass for selling xmr for usdc erc20- since even the buyer has to deposit xmr
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> the buyer of xmr, has to deposit xmr, to pay me in usdc erc20.
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> lol
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> kycnot.me , one look at the wall of text garbage under moneros .exchange .. contains the literal text"LSI keywords such as “anonymous Monero exchange,” “no KYC crypto swap,” “instant XMR converter,” ..." in the description.. lol
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> how did you find it? i cant see it
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> question is: can someone spam AI to keep telling it the serviceX is great until it starts recommending it to uers who ask for a service
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> no, it didnt say its great. it just gave me a list of websites and "unknown" ones
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> @yomom1337:matrix.org: its not listed there, never heard of it. find an instant swapper on kycnot.me if you want it
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> he told me to be careful about this one
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> @plowsof:matrix.org: ohh okay thank you
-
br-m
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> xD
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> This is to confirm that your request № ORD-57A15223 has been successfully received by our system. 👍️
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> did you actually try it now?
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> nevermind
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> site looks good honestly just who the fuck is behind it
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> why did you kick me?
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> its not my site
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> you are promoting a site that allows you to deposit to an address called "is this a lazy scam attempt", with ai slop in the description which ive pointed out, and you continue speaking positively about it
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> wtf i didnt promote it
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> i asked if its legit
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> bro thinks everyone is technical. i didnt even understand what you did at first
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> are you still asking it its legit?
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> its not legit
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> nah but not a reason to remove me? are you trying to demonstrate your power here or what
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> i only mentioned it once
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> do you think the site is legit?
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> no, thats why i was asking
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> after the information shared do you think the site is legit?
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> no, i do not think the site is legit
-
br-m
<plowsof:matrix.org> please use
getmonero.org/community/merchants or kycnot.me
-
br-m
<yomom1337:matrix.org> 👍️ yes thanks
-
br-m
<xmrsoul:matrix.org> @plowsof:matrix.org: what do you think about this zerofi protocol?
-
br-m
<xmrsoul:matrix.org> most important monero related project right now imo
-
br-m
<masayuki:wired.rehab> Ok @matrix.org shill
-
pushrad
i'm getting these errors trying to run monerod
paste.rs/WoDID
-
pushrad
my node was working fine for a while
-
pushrad
i am on debian 13 and monero version 0.18.4.0+~0+20200826-1
-
pushrad
fixed it by using monerod downloaded from the site
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> You were using monerod from debian repo?
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Start it with --log-level 1
-
pushrad
yeah i was
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> Stdout should give you some log as to why its not starting
-
pushrad
weird, the debian one works now, after synchronizing from the official release
-
br-m
<ofrnxmr:xmr.mx> I think it might have crashed due to already have a port bound 🤷♂️
-
pushrad
monerod was the only thing listening on its ports
-
br-m
<datahoarder> blocks explorer can now also verify provided tx proofs (in addition of tx key / view key) like
blocks.p2pool.observer/tx/3ff4ddd47…MsGw&proof=OutProofV2d1aTvT5WWsKgi4 [... too long, see
mrelay.p2pool.observer/e/xKewhdEKaWthUFB2 ]
-
br-m
-
br-m
<datahoarder> Can also provide proofs directly via a form, or tx key, or view key
-
br-m
<weiningerenjoyer99:matrix.org> Hi everyone! Excited to be part of this group 🦾
-
br-m
<pcre> Is there an email bridge on matrix.monero.social, so people can send emails to the room?
-
DataHoarder
god no
-
br-m
<sophianawttyzoobabymatrix.org:matrix.org> 88DZP4CbRwGZHgHye6WRLuSkqbychX8rhMQAdPTG2t5WRKmY8zvRDizcnYGCV3kXtUHekh5JTAAmj4zFMXMccT6HLdPzpHw
-
br-m
<datahoarder> ^ plowsof please ban/clean
-
plowsof
👍
-
br-m
<datahoarder> also do not look at profile pic
-
BlueyHealer
irc does not have profile pics lol
-
AlbertLarsan68
But it does not have message redaction though
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> @datahoarder: average morg moment
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> irc meme
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> good luck reporting the account to their abuse email from a privacy-friendly provider or personal email server, in majority of cases the email will be filtered out
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> I think it might even get banned in UK because cant comply with regulations
-
br-m
<datahoarder> I like they have matrix.org in their name
-
br-m
<datahoarder> sophianawttyzoobabymatrix.org:matrix.org
-
BlueyHealer
basses, if you mean age verification - they're already stated they are going to comply.
-
BlueyHealer
I think at least some users were sent a notification about that.
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> irc lack basic moderation tools
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> @datahoarder: Don't worry, I have to handle a lot of CSAM rooms, morg users always have the nicest handles around
-
br-m
<datahoarder> irc has pruning :')
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> My fav: babyrapist something something
-
BlueyHealer
ah, irc
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> @gan:skhron.org: iirc, morg has the most csam spam
-
BlueyHealer
Yeah really makes me wonder. You get used to a lot of things being banned tho. It's only scary when the circumvention tools get broken
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> other homeservers get fedi ban before they get popular so they die
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> if they dont manage their shit as quick
-
BlueyHealer
Servers used by one person or a group of friends have no such weakness))
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> yes
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> @basses:matrix.org: in context of fediverse?
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> both fedi and matrix have "separate" verses, on matrix, we have completely unmoderated servers, around ~500 of them
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> pediverse is a real thing
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> Majority of Matrix server software at the moment doesn't have efficient tooling for functional defederation
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: My server is used by very few people and a few bots, but to be honest, if I saw such biowaste in my immediate environment, it'd be like that one scene from American History X for them
-
BlueyHealer
I don't know the reference but I get your point.
-
BlueyHealer
I don't remember how the config looks, but recall only the binary "federated/not federated with others".
-
br-m
<basses:matrix.org> @gan:skhron.org: dont they have a bot and share balist?
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: That's probably full disabling of federation, the options for controlling federation on Synapse are generally lackluster
-
BlueyHealer
gan, yes, the option I referred to is about federation in general
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: That's probably a good thing then
-
BlueyHealer
I assumed there was something more granular you could add to config but okay
-
BlueyHealer
gan, wdym?
-
BlueyHealer
Like how Fedi complains about being too fractured?
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> @basses:matrix.org: ACLs aren't meant to prevent one's users from interacting with such spaces
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: to be honest, I haven't looked at stock Synapse in a long time, I doubt they had added anything that could be useful in such context
-
BlueyHealer
So how is it a good thing?
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: Funnily enough, a few home-servers and room admins boycotted morg along with me, and factually I thought about creating a separate federation that'd be more moderated, and free of morgstadt
-
BlueyHealer
I thought of blocking morg in my hosts file initially but it would disable most rooms
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: I assume, you're commenting on "That's probably a good thing then", that was a comment to your message - "I don't know the reference [...]"
-
BlueyHealer
Ah!
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: Won't work at large, as other servers would backfill messages, and users from the home-server could join questionable rooms via other servers
-
BlueyHealer
my other issue is the lack of media deletion. Like, I have very limited storage!
-
BlueyHealer
From what I understand, it stores profile pics and chat media all the same. So you could purge all big media older than X, but not "all chat media".
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> Well, that's assuming there's no options to control that on Synapse, continuwuity offers option to filter out users based off home-servers even if their messages are backfilled
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> BlueyHealer: yeah, I believe so
-
BlueyHealer
For now I could just reinstall the thing. But the decision makes me so angry and baffled.
-
BlueyHealer
Oh, nice!
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> Morggers probably haven't used any real messengers beside their comfy slack chat considering they haven't considered invite filtering until recently after months of attacks
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> Not to mention that they got a CP invite live on a MorgCon :)
-
br-m
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> (I've blurred the image, just to note)
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> or rather, redded it*
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> 🧌
-
BlueyHealer
not even clicking that, I take your word it's horrifying
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> Hopefully after Netherlands funds will dry out, as always, it'd go back to Israel 🧌
-
br-m
<datahoarder> I just realized morg is matrix.org
-
br-m
<lza_menace> what the fuck. is that a sick joke? > <@gan:skhron.org> Not to mention that they got a CP invite live on a MorgCon :)
-
br-m
<gan:skhron.org> @lza_menace: Which part?
